If we get Beal, Bron could help us by opting out next year and signing a cheap deal for his last year. That would help the team cap wise and also ensure we keep our depth.

That's if he wants his best chance at winning another ring. :Kobe Shrug:

In the last 4 years Beal played 50,40,60,57 games.
He has a contract until '27 where we pay him 57 million

If you want a vet who can score in late game situations at a much cheaper price it’s Derozan from Chicago.

I value Beal’s contract as THE Worst in the League due to him never proving a thing, and missing a lot of games every season. He’s put up big numbers on some of the worst teams.
    Please No!!!

I'd easily take Beal's contract over Simmons's contract. At least Beal isn't afraid to play the sport.

Thought the same. If they're keeping Dame, I don't see them keeping the pick. They've already said they'll do whatever to maximize his window.

I've seen a couple reports that they're hoping to get a guy after Beard. So they still want $25-$30m to play with to sign additional guys... whether that's Lopez or a similar piece. If that's the case, that's definitely not what Beard is hoping to secure from them.

Nurk and Simons for Siakam works. Plus whatever pick stuff they can agree to.

I don't understand this one. The two time line thing isn't working there. So the plan is to try it again? I like Kuminga's physical profile. I'd trust him to Handy as a buy low option. I'm guessing they're trying to get him to OKC or Toronto at 12 and 13. He fits what they look for.

No to Beal, in fact HELL NO to Beal. We literally just did the 3 star thing and it cost us a season and a half. As soon as we added depth again to our 2 stars we made the WCF. Just keep putting solid players around LeBron and AD, and add your next star AFTER LeBron is gone. If they add a 3rd star now with a contract that huge, our roster will be those 3 and almost entirely minimums again, and even making the playoffs like that is a tall task, especially since all 3 likely miss time to injury. Denver just won with 2 stars and a super solid cast of 4-5 other guys, we don’t need to overcomplicate this.

I don't think we'll get Beal. I'd prefer we not even chase him, but we're definitely going to be linked to him. The 3 max slots isn't going to work with the new CBA, especially when one of the three has a zillion miles on his body and all 3 are guaranteed to miss at least 20+ games a year.

BUT we're definitely going to be linked to him and not just because we're LA and the big market. When Bron and AD were in the wine lab deciding who the 3rd guy should be, Beal was high on that list. Russ was the consolation prize from Washington, not the target. I'd expect a Klutch leak regarding Beal and the Lakers in the next 7 days (before the draft).

I don't want him unless it's a DLO S&T decision of Kyrie or Beal (God help us!). In which case I take Beal 11 times out of 10.

We'll see..but if we are really looking to trade down, and end up with 3 draft picks, we are almost certainly going to make a big trade for a high dollar contract IMO. Those 3 rookie slots, added to Max and Wenyen, helps with filling out the roster. We won’t be playing Max and 3 other rookies. I just don't see that happening at all. Who will we be targeting? Who knows..probably somebody not being talked about at all right now.

I'm not pining for Beal at all here ,but, in comparison over the last 4 years. Dame has played 66,67,29,58 games. His contract is until 27 and he'll be making 63 million.

A Beal/Reaves backcourt not going to lie would be fun as hell but his contract is the worst asset in the league - just don't see it happening.

Wizards would have to attach assets to make that work

Let me get this right: we get out of Westbrook hell/jail, only to go back into salary cap purgatory with 3 stars and a bunch of vet minimum guys to complete the roster? Makes perfect sense to me.

Depends on the players involved. It also depends on whether Lebron and AD are healthy. It's not going to work either way without the last part.
