Comparing our lineup from the first time we played them this year to the lineup that knocked them out. It's mind blowing.

Done Nunn was our 4th leading scorer.

And just like all the other awards ignoring AD for an arbitrary number of games vs number of minutes played, the rankings from the media on the deadline trades LAUGHABLY ignored and or downplayed or were just morons not recognizing what he pulled off.

I don’t ever remember such a drastic “mid-season” overhaul to a Laker squad.
Rob deserved some of the disrespect for the garbage squad that we had for most of the season, but now deserves even more credit for fixing most of the issues that we were plagued with.
He’s the EOTY in my mind because the proof has already been shown in these playoffs- regardless of what happens in these next games.

Rob had the Biggest Balls of all to play and win at “poker” like that. Doc Buss would have approved of the outcome.

Oh man :D No, but really, I have a lot more confidence in Rob this off-season to not repeat that same huge mistake

Guards..guards. guards. Everybody is always talking about more guards. I hope Rob realizes that, Anthony needs another quality bigman to play with next season. If he gets us one, I will be happy. If he doesn't, I will be disappointed, and I really wouldn't care, which guard he went out and got, if he moves Russell and Beasley. We need another big.

Rob's job looked a lot easier two weeks ago. He has regained trust from the trade deadline though, just hope Jeanie is willing to spend to keep most of this team for next season.

eh, it's possible bamba could be enough. we definitely don't need an expensive big. not with the way most teams play these days. we just need...more than one.

yeah, the russell situation isn't an easy one. i also think rui was cheaper a few weeks ago, too.

rob's generally earned my trust. i think he's hemmed in a bit by our reluctance to spend HUGE like our competitors and by lebron playing gm (still, apparently), but hopefully his success sticking to his guns against lebron's wishes (and those of most fans and pundits) this year will give him the ability/clout to take control of the basketball decisions.

i'm pretty confident he's not going to pursue kyrie in any serious way.

    I liked his interview.
Made a point before starting on setting the tone of the interview by stating that we made progress and are in a good spot and want to build on that and have continuity.
Mentioned Rui, Reaves, Vando and Dlo as players from the young core he wants to keep. I love it

Hopefully. Lopez is 35, I don't want another Mark Gasol experiment, and how much he will cost us. If Mo can gain 20lbs during the summer I think then he can bang with Joker. Dwight was big and strong, anyone with a wide load, Joker have problems with. Yeah, another 7footer would help just in case Mo goes down again.

20 pounds?! This isn't Christian Bale we're talking about. Since Mo measured at the combine 5 years ago, he's put on 5 1/2 pounds. Based on that trajectory, we can expect him to be at 232 lbs next year.

OK after reading that above it sounds like Buha is saying the new CBA is in effect this summer?? How could that “fairly” be, with teams not having been able to plan for the new rules and stiffer penalties?

“The Lakers have a lot to weigh as free agency approaches in the next few weeks, including, most notably, the benefits and costs of the new CBA.”

Well bleep me. It does take effect on July 1st. Wow.

“The National Basketball Association and National Basketball Players Association announced today that the new collective bargaining agreement has been ratified by the NBA Board of Governors and the NBA players. The seven-year agreement will take effect on July 1, 2023, and run through the 2029-30 season.”

Both sides had to agree, so teams and players have bought in on the idea.

The new CBA starts in July but all the provisions don't take effect immediately. I understand that this cap stuff pertaining to a new second tax apron is to be phased in. I think Woj said a month or so ago, it won't be until summer 2024, that that starts to take effect. He said that the teams with these high payrolls had better win a chip in the next couple of seasons, before this comes down fully.
