Ok. You wanna win? We're a 60+ year old franchise with only a handful of losing seasons. You know we're winners and we will be back to relevancy sooner or later. You can't say that for 90% of teams. You wanna make money?? Well s*** son, Laker fan base is close to a billion strong worldwide. Look at the money Kobe rakes in over in China. There's no reason not to sign with LA except that the player is a p**** b**** that can't handle the pressure
They don't have the brain trust in the FO for today's NBA. There is no other way to interpret the calamity of poor decisions and even worse preparation for big organizational opportunities. People can cry Stern and bad luck all day long. The FO has pushed quality people out of the organization. You have to have contingencies in place for your plan A to go wrong. It's not logical to say that the Lakers are uniquely the victims of a series of Black Swan-type events. They've had too much time to assess, learn from mistakes, and prepare to recover and they have utterly failed. The only positive things that have resulted have been high draft pics and those only came from losing. This FO is destroying the Lakers brand and quickly. BTW. I'm totally agreeing with what you've been saying. Not sure you agree with all this but that's how I see it.
Yea its weak I went to the park with a friend to see her nephew play ball and i was shocked to see that the losers ended up getting a trophy (for losing) and it was as big or bigger than the actual winners trophy I was like no wonder. If this is what theyre teaching them from an early age its no wonder that they end up growing with weak mentality. Its terrible In a few yrs nba is gonna end up giving the losers a ring as well
I don't think they're destroying the brand. The brand is too big to really, truly be destroyed. They're certainly weakening it right now though. I was willing to be patient with the whole analytics thing and being stuck in the past, but it's caught up to us. Changes need to be made plain and simple this summer. Either bring in different people along with Mitch and Jim or start looking in another direction for kids that can more easily relate to the process of players these days.
If we get Lee, we could package him with Randle + a future first to get Cousins later in the year. That's what it will cost. But Lakers management will be dealing with the Kings (who are a gigantic gigantic mess). They have problems on their own and we'll be dragged into it.
Oh god no The lin experiment needs to stay where it's at No more retreads Let russ play and bring a vet that will teach him a thing or 2
Getting David Lee isn't proactive it's a move to make a move and that move is backwards. We are at the point of getting David Lee is the result of sitting around doing nothing. All these 2nd tier FA are flying off the list and we are sitting here waiting for a David Lee trade? That's absurd. I've said it for the last 3 years that we should be building squads with 2nd tier players and enticing top FA that way. Another year of FA will be wasted if we get David Lee. We will have nothing to show for next season besides the same team and cap space that we've been turned down for the last 2 years. Building a team gets you closer to getting top tier talent, not hoping Daddy's name and cap space will get you one. David Lee is a white flag move for a defeated FO.
That's just sad! Wtf are we doing to these kids. You're right, I can see the CBA holding out for Second Place Participation Rings in 20 years. ROFL
I swear to God, it's like Woj knows who I want and then tells me they're going somewhere else just for fun.
LOL, Ed Davis to Portland. This FA offseason just keeps getting better and better. *Starts listening to Rock Bottom by Eminem*
Best big men left: Robin Lopez, Kosta Koufos, and Jordan Hill. Honorable mention: DeAndre Jordan and LaMarcus Aldridge who haven't signed yet.
