Upshaw has potential to be a star center in the NBA. But I can't answer your question about who stays and who gets cut. They are all in the same boat. I don't see us giving up on Russ, and Randle or Clark might end up traded for an impact player eventualy but... Who knows.

That team needs some help, but it's true - the young bucks on the team are pretty impressive.

Ideally, we want to keep them all, and sign a new, impact 3 or 5 to help them grow.

If Upshaw dominates in summer league/camp/preseason and we decline to give him a deal because we have Robert "Black hole" Sacre on our team, I'll provide 3 pages worth of doom for other sites just by myself.

I don't think that is a product they will put on the floor. What scares me about this is that they may re-engage SAC regarding Cousins. The only way we are getting a vet it seems is going to be to overpay for one in a trade.

We've dug a really deep hole. If we go with that team Kobe will be injured and gone by Christmas and Phoenix might have to wait another year to get their pick.

And who's to say Nance doesn't show out for us too. I've liked what I've seen from video footage, a lot.

Maybe instead of Melo and LMA, we should focus on lesser names / lower contract players. Putting all our eggs in one basket and striking out repeatedly.

Which is precisely what I mentioned in the "2015 Free Agent..." thread. Get the guys that fit the team and improve instantly. There has to be some sort of vision for the future here... Need someone young, but useful. A center, a SF, maybe a backup point. But no, let's talk to LaMarcus, who is 30 and plays the 4 instead.

It still is a catch-22, but to me the plan is simple: meet with the big name free agents quickly and then move quickly to back-up FAs.

Are we really so unaware of ourselves that we think one of these guys will jump after our meetings? Do we not have someone who can read the room or read people at all? It should have been obvious to us that Aldridge didn't like our pitch, but Shelburn says we were shocked at the poor reception. THAT is what is embarrassing this summer, not missing out on FAs we knew weren't going to sign.

We're getting BONED and I don't like it anymore.

    This is getting beyond ridiculous.

If that happened, I would probably not watch a Laker game for 3 years. If Upshaw kills it, he likely will sign with us. I'm not worried about that. he went undrafted and we gave him a shot. We also offer an opportunity to possibly start in year one. The clouds look dark right now, but we have a lot of potential on the roster. Anthony Brown had articles written about him as a darkhorse in the draft. Upshaw could be a dominant defensive presence. We could literally have our entire 8 man rotation built from the last two drafts

    Upshaw/Black
    Randle/Black/Nance
    A. Brown/Nance
    Clarkson/J. Brown
    Russell/Clarkson

Is it likely? Hell no. The odds are astronomically against it. But with Upshaw we do have 4 very promising prospects.

At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if Upshaw balled and we somehow miss out on even signing him.

Front office is in shambles, we haven't signed a Free Agent, and we're still waiting on Aldridge who by all account is getting ready to sign somewhere else. We're in fantasy land.

I hope the we aren't planning to tank again to grab the pick from Philly.

It's starting to look that way.
