JTA has a very valid point, this Pack kid that he has hanging around him, seems to always be involved in a lot of this foolishness.

You know, not to defend anyone involved but I actually felt like his friend immediately realized Ja had messed up because he quickly moved the camera off of him after he flashed the gun. I think Ja could easily be the bad apple of the group.

It's the posting of stupid s*** on social media, that he seems to be addicted to. I guess that's a thing with the young crowd. Having a firearm isn't illegal.

Please hire him so I don’t have to hear him as an analyst anymore.

oh jeez. JTA telling on himself? you're a journeyman vet min, bro--don't tell potential employers that you think drunken gun play is cool as long as no one sees it.

    lol, doom-worthy. he's awful.

and i thought he was unjustly fired in gs, but i was dead wrong on that take years ago. in fairness, i didn't know about all his weird s***. but mil's front office does.

hopefully they hire him, and we have a chance to give giannis his late career title like lebron got here.

I don’t get the don’t record him defense either. He knows he’s being recorded, he SEES the camera and he’s looking into it as he’s singing. He knows they’re on live, yet he STILL flashes the gun, his friend even tried to fix it right away and turned the camera away. Also, yeah it may be a legal gun, but he plays in the NBA, he works for the league, they are a essentially a company and have the right to establish rules on how they want their employees to appear in public. IMO don’t go around flashing your guns isn’t a big crazy ask.

He should just stay off of social media. It's costing him a lot of cash.

He already lost almost 40 million because he didn’t make an all nba team this year.

One of them had to go. I thought it would be Ayton. He still might get dealt anyway though.

    sirron's theory gains support.

reflects poorly on the organization if true, though. it was clear they didn't want ayton during the contract negotiation process last year. they should have moved him. he wasn't invested in the team, and that makes sense. monty was probably expecting him to just swallow the pride and lean in, but it wasn't in him, hence friction.

but as we saw, it's monty whose job is on the line.

whatever, they're both rich forever, and i suppose we could argue about whether monty or ayton is more valuable to an nba franchise, but not being able to move decisively earlier is definitely a bad thing.

I think this is BS. They were going to fire Monty anyway with their flameout in the playoffs. They are looking to trade Ayton. Why would they give into his demands?

that's still my thought. but...why not trade ayton in december then? it's not like their season was going great at that point, imo.

I like Monty but he had two bad flameouts in playoff series and who knows what was happening behind closed doors.

We've seen questionable incidents with Ayton.

I think the new owners are just coming through with the broom. GM is probably gone next.

Oh I definitely would have traded Ayton when contract negotiations broke down. If a team decides a player is not in their future plans, they need to be decisive and trade him.

This too..I thought Monty let some of these huddle confrontations, with his teammates get out of hand, without stepping in and knocking that stuff off.

Also it's not like it's a hunting rifle he's showing off while going after deer or a wild pig. If it's today's equivalent of Karl Malone showing off a hunting rifle, good on him. But no this is a player with a pistol that wasn't his *wink wink* that looks an awful lot like the pistol they pretended he didn't take to Denver on a team plane, because he definitely did. It belongs to a player who has threatened someone with a gun and involved a few other threats during a HS basketball game and at the mall. If there's no history here, it's not that big a deal. But there is. And there was an empty lie of an apology and nothing changed. Gun violence is too big an issue in this country (not trying to go political and have no interest in debating that matter) for how Ja, Memphis, and the NBA handled this so far. This time they have to make the correct call and a half assed bull s*** weekend at an all inclusive resort isn't a cure. We're only 2 months from the last issue. Stern would've came down on him for 40-50 games on the last one and this one would be for a season and then a reevaluation to see if he's going to be allowed back in the league. I get Silver is softer, but this one needs to give him whiplash.
