could go both ways...they might think its bad that noone is coming...or they could feel good that they have legit chances to start and get heavy run

what they SHOULD be thinking is that it's up to them to make the brand look good again...if Russell is as good as advertised and JC continues to thrive and Randle is better than expected, the team WILL turn heads and make FA want to play with a young core

BUT, if we lose 80 games again like last season, someone (Jeanie) has to make FO changes...she can't allow us to become Sixers West

This looks amazing to our young guys. They'll get to play and not have to sit back behind some star looking for touches.

Look at Clarkson for example. Give him consistent minutes, going against the best in the NBA, they'll develop much faster than behind some old farts collecting a check.

Meanwhile we wait for our 1% chance at Deandre...

Maybe the Lakers will pull their heads out in time on RoLo. Maybe.

i also didn't like how okafor has carried himself since. his reaction to the draft, his "dropping" of the jersey at the player presentation.

what i'm starting to get from him is a sense of entitlement and not a take it and run with it attitude. all his life he's been on "the best" teams and succeeding. now he's on a sixer team debating whether to run a 4 center lineup or not. obviously, he didn't bring it to our workouts, so it didn't come to fruition. he better check that ego at the door or he will become a bust.

Definitely. You need to have a strong set of role players to compete. It's not just about the stars, although stars help attract role players. If we have good role players in place with good up-and-coming young players, we'd win a decent amount of games, and it would definitely help attract the stars.

Another problem is that free agents now have a lot of smart people by their side - agents, accountants, analysts, whatever. They have more information than they used to in the past. Other teams seem to have even more information that will still blow away the free agents. No idea what the Lakers are doing though.

I'll agree that the only way to improve is to compete with guys that are better than you but I also think some of them are thinking maybe LA isn't all that's its cracked up to be. I want Russell and Randle to be All NBA Rookies like Clarkson and stick with us for the next decade

The Knicks know Robin Lopez is the best Center left after the other two bigs who certainly aren't going to NY.

The Lakers are content to sit back, miss on those two, and then bring back their players from last year.

Remember when the reached out to Lin, Davis, Hill, and Boozer opening night? Now we know why: they never were going to go after mid-level talent like Chandler or Robin Lopez. They will continue this asinine rotation of 3rd and 4th year players while missing on high profile FAs.

Unless they get Tobias Harris, I'm ready to let the heads roll upstairs.

Well, I said it a few posts back, but why would a player in his prime go to an LA team on the rebuild? Two of the guys who are supposed to be "stars" haven't even played a single game yet.

Develop our team, get the right role guys who want to be here, stay competitive, and we'll be back.

I hope they're thinking they are being disrespected by these FA vets that are "unimpressed" with them, and come out this season with chips on their shoulders....

We're in the running for our left nut, right nut has declined to comment. Sources say it wasn't impressed by our shaft
