Jeezus .... in addition to those players which picks you talking? While typing this it dawned you must be talking our current 1st and a 2nd? Originally thought we were back to the future #1s.

That's not enough ands, we just ran out of assets. I'd give them a haul, but we don't have one to give and even then they'd laugh us off the phone. Bridges just got the Nets an offer of 4 first at the deadline and Brown is better than Bridges.

Two of those players only true value at across the league will be as expirings and we like Christie but he's done zero in the league and is one year away from being relatively good (he'll play next year though).

What happened to realdeal? We used to have some spirited debates about Brandon Ingram.

I'm not familiar with realdeal, but I remember that I was willing to trade BI way back when, and I think 99% of Laker fans were against it. My reasoning was ironically for the same reasons as trading THT and Westbrook. They were not great fits playing with Lebron. They like to handle the ball, and get to the paint. It has been pretty much proven that players who exclusively do that are not great fits with Lebron. Now BI did have a better mid-range game than THT and Russ, and he has since developed a solid three-ball, but back then he wasn't. BI petty much had to be the man somewhere. He became that guy in New Orleans, and we got a chip with AD, so it was the correct move. Heck, I wanted to trade BI for the Doncic pick, and people hated that.

The reason Reaves fits so well with Lebron is a combination of him doing other things besides other than driving to the basket (three-point shooting, defense, general bball iq, cutting, etc.), and Lebron's willingness to play more off of the ball now. If Reaves was just a driver, then he likely wouldn't fit well.

Our debates were about wanting to trade BI for Bradley Beal. I’ll admit Ingram was my favorite Laker since Kobe and probably still is. No current Laker really moves the needle for me to be “favorite Laker” status.

Just curious, what is it about BI that makes him one of your favorites? A lot of fans share the same sentiment. I don't lol.

A lot of people loved Clarkson too. Both are good players, but I think a lot of fans had some sort of emotional attachment to both that caused them to act irrationally in terms of trade scenarios. Like, why wouldn't you trade BI for Doncic? Just looking at Luka's Euro highlights, you could see that he already was a European Magic Johnson type, clear as day. Also, Bradley Beal would of been a pretty damn good acquisition back then too. He forgot how to shoot now, but back then he was a multi-faceted, high-volume sniper that would of fit better with Lebron. But we got AD, and the rest is history.

He was young and skinny, but you could see the potential All-Star in him. He was a kid I envisioned growing through the Lakers system. I loved BI, but was totally onboard with trading him for AD.

He had that enormous wing span and great size. I could see how fans would look at a skinny young wing player in such high regard, after the success of one Kobe Bryant. Nobody is wired in such a way that the Mamba was, but I could see that BI just didn't have the proper mentality. Kind of reminds me of AD i a way, who annoys the heck out of me, but grateful to have as our Robin.

I liked Brandon the most out of the young guys we had. I'm not surprised that he's playing well. He's extremely long with a handle, and he can shoot. He's more like a KD type than a Kobe. That's cool, there is more than one way to get it done in the NBA.

This is how I feel, even if he looked like a total stoner! Those sleepy eyes of his, make him look like he is always smoked out.

i liked ingram. he's about at the max i thought he'd get to right now (thought he'd be a bit better defender, though, tbh). hard worker, no-nonsense guy. but i was glad to move him for AD.

it was obvious that ingram was going to become a star the way he was playing in 18-19 before the blood clots shut his season down. of all the young talent they've traded over the years, he was by far the one i was the saddest to see go. but it was well worth acquiring AD

How can anyone be saying this in the Austin Reaves era?

My favorite Lakers are Magic and Kobe. Other players who I liked were Byron Scott, Tony Smith, Nick Van Exel, Cedric Ceballos, Eddie Jones, D'Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, and LeBron James.

I think BI could end out being a superstar, number one option, in the future. I think AR could ONLY be a very good 3rd option kind of guy. Not to say that it will happen that way, but I think BI's ceiling appears higher.

"favorite" doesn't mean "best" i think was the joke/intent.

Totally agree. But if Boston is going to move Brown, then Ja would probably be the best offer they'd get. I don't even think Memphis would offer that, they'd try to do the package you said and get turned down. But they should offer Ja instead, bc they've shown they can do well even without Ja, as they have T.Jones. I said the same things somewhere back during the KD trade time, that Memphis should trade Ja for KD: T.Jones, Bane, KD, JJJ, Adams would be insane.

AR gonna make you a believer.

People still didn't believe in Euros as much pre-Luka. I agree that it was clear as day...to those who could see clearly. But Phoenix and Sacramento picked Ayton and Bagley over him, and Atlanta traded him for Trae. Stupid is as stupid does.

Interesting, I never thought that about BI. The way he's developing, JJ Redick said just this am that [paraphrased] he has some of the most hunger, desire, WIM, Mamba-like mentality around.

    Co-signed. AR da troof.

AR gonna be a legit #2 player. 25, 8 & 6 on good efficiency with good defense. Exactly what you want in a #2. Hopefully it's as a lifelong Laker, with another chip down the line with him as #2.
