I still stand that Chandler Parson's d*** sucking abilities will move him to Dallas. I hope I'm wrong.
Yup, remember if it wasn't for a unprecedented involvement from the NBA, our fate would have been much different with Kobe & cp3.
Nah we don't need Smush, we can just bring Ronnie Price back. And then Hill and Wes, just repeat last season all over! Man I'd be freakin thrilled with Tobias Harris and a solid starting C at the end of all this. Harris would complete our core of talented youth, PG, SG, SF, and PF all filled with a potential long term starters, or even potential All-Stars in a couple cases. I really hope we're interested in Harris and it just isn't out there because he's restricted and we don't want to get stuck waiting on Orlando to match if he signs with us, and don't want to lose out on FA's in the meantime. We need to be after Harris though.
I think we will wait until we are "formally" turned down by both LA and DJ. Then it will be too late to grab one of these other guys. Really hope I am wrong.
So, as of today, quality centers still available D.Jordan G.Monroe R.Lopez Koufos Biyombo E.Davis Still some quality players there!
ESPN analytics agree with me! I knew DJ was the best FA in this mix and Tobias Harris is ranked 26th http://espn.go.com/nba/insider/stor...e-jordan-lead-statistical-free-agent-rankings
i think dj is actually underrated in general. i don't see how dwight howard is any better than him, seriously. but unless every single member of the press has it wrong, the lakers have no shot. i think they should be moving on rolo or monroe before somebody snatches them like chandler got snatched. after that, i guess you start looking for teams that want to get out from under contracts...yeesh.
First of all, ESPN sucks. Second, Harris isn't a savior, he's a piece, and a good one. His max isn't out of control pricey, and there was a rumor or tweet the other day that the Magic won't match offers for him. That could have changed, or it could be false, but I still go after him. He's young, he can shoot, he can drive, he runs the floor well, and while I don't know a lot about his D, it would seem he can and wants to improve there. We need quality pieces to start bundling a team, and Harris would immediately be one of our best players if he came here. Then, and here I go again with the "if"'s, if Russell, Clarkson, and Randall all have good seasons and show their potential, and we have Harris with that group, you'd have to think we'd look more interesting to free agents next summer. Every signing can't be a star or "home run", you need quality, solid ones too. Ed Davis last offseason is an example of a very good signing, he's not a star, but his production for what he was paid was pretty great.
I mean, today has to be better than yesterday right? It's like every team has gotten better and here we are playing catch with Robert freaking Sacre.
i'd be thrilled to get harris at this point, espn rankings be damned. i just don't see the magic letting him walk, even at max. and especially not to the lakers. of course, if they really want him, they can give him a chandler parsons type deal (trade kicker, player option, etc.). that might scare them off. and still, i'd wait until the UFAs were off the board.
Even the Knicks are doing better I'm going to overreact and say I can't wait for the Lakers to be sold to a competent owner ... another sad season is coming
If we could get Harris for a little less than max, I'd be okay with that. Follow it up with a Robin Lopez signing. Tread water for a few years and let the young guys develop.
