I'd Xs and Os all over that white board. You have to show them how you will maximize their stats (Let's face it every NBA player is keeping tabs) and with that lift the competitiveness of the team with them on it. I bet the Mavs, Spurs employed the strategy above, while providing statistical evidence backing their premises. Players don't have to understand all the inbetween stuff (Numbers, plays, etc.), they just want the end result being increased productivity and wins. Reminds me of a magician and his audience. No one really cares about what goes on behind the curtain, they just want the satisfaction of seeing the rabbit being pulled out of the hat. Whether we get the players or not is one thing (That's not in our power to make them come here), but the delivery, the message, the impact of what we are selling should be something the players remember. So far it's been meh to head scratching. That's not acceptable. Again, it's not about the players we are missing out on, it's the fundamental flaw in our system that's leaves these players with a bad taste in their mouth when they leave that room.
Yeah with how yesterday went, Phil got a bargain. Heard he took a $4m a year discount to play with his buddy Melo.
I figured the initial reports on afflalo's contract (3/36) were wrong. I actually think he should have held out. whomever lost on wes Matthews would have paid him 3/30, imo.
So of we'really still looking for a big, what about Asik? Haven't heard he's signed anywhere. Solid rebounder and rim protector.

What a freakin disaster so far this has been. We better give Ed what he wants or we'll end up with Sacre...
Ok so Afflalo signed for 8. That's right around where I projected. Maybe we strike out on all of the big names but throw together a cast of bargain signings. Gerald Green(6), Rondo(6), Davis(4), Bismack(4), McDaniels(2). Dump Kelly and Sacre to make room for 1 more 2M signing. I wouldn't be disappointed with that. Add defense at nearly every position to balance out our current all-offense lineup.
A talented, up and coming SF. He was mentioned by many here this season as someone we should go after this offseason, but it was always assumed at the same time the Bucks would match any offer. I don't know if his stats so far justify that money, but I guess you pay for potential, and with the crazy money being thrown around so far, I'd say that isn't a bad deal for him.
Peope on Twitter are having fun with the LMA interview/presentation. Most of them think it's Kobe's fault. For example: Kobe: Prefer to shoot from left or right? LMA: Either but I'll say right. Kobe: Wrong. You don't shoot. I do. Or- LMA: Kobe, why does this wine taste funky? Kobe: It's blood.
So I got this feeling we'll have DeAndre in the bag. Years of being in the shadow of the Lakers must be frustrating, being second class citizens even though they are with a better team. Being boo'ed in your own city's baseball stadium. Choking a chance for the title because your team is just living to its reputation. If Jordan changes locker room he will be hailed as a hero without relocating
If we have DJ in the bag it will be the biggest troll job by the national media ever. We are portrayed as being lucky to get a solid meeting with Smush Parker right now.
Everyone is now waiting to see if things get better today. Not sure how we can possibly do worse than yesterday. Regardless of how much of an impact any of these guys will have on the court, the brand took a major hit. I'm hoping we bounce back quickly here, but I don't know. The fact that the front office seemed to be so surprised at how the Aldridge meeting went really said a lot.
Have faith guys..we wanted Mitch's head during the 05,06,07 season and that was with jerry at the helm. As much as we joke about our FO, they'll get us to the promise land.
