I mean basketball wise yea he brings it everyday and works shows them how to do your job and how to be a professional and carry yourself health wise /nutritional wise ..... You may see things differently...... Russ earns players respect and look up to. Him he is a legend stat wise
I I see how he treats the media and places blame on others for his bad play on the court. No accountability for your actions is a sign of a very insecure and weak minded person. Hollow stats that don’t lead to winning never have and never will impress me. Guys like him come and go every era in the NBA. I’m glad he’s found a home with the Flippers. He’s right where he belongs.
LOL! How is my opinion of Brick an “agenda?” Am I trying to topple his empire? Strange. Hall of Fame Regular Season Acheiver! Woohoooo! What separates the truly great from the soft hearted are the ones who can perform at the highest level throughout a season AND then overcome the pressure and heightened competition in the playoffs. I ain’t stopping anyone from liking Russ, but don’t ever tell me that I have to just because others do.
If you haven’t figured out by now, all of the fake awards and considerations bestowed upon these players are meaningless to me since they are glorified popularity contests riddled with like-ability quotients. We all know that AD is the true defensive player of the year this season. The Joker is great, but he AND Nash being awarded two MVPs while Kobe was only given one tells you all you need to know about the clean subjectivity of that “award.”
It's a lot of people's opinion. Russ has been bad for a long time, and even in his heyday, it wasn't good basketball, which is why KD left.
KD left because he was/is a p**** and the biggest frontrunner in the history of the NBA. As for Russ, he's not a winning basketball player, he's a stat padding master and yet, still a HOFer. Who cares...
My personal opinion is KD wanted OUT from Russ being Russ basketball and there was a "path" to the Warriors, not so much a "if you can't beat them join them" plus they were playing a great style of basketball. And from that point on yes he morphed into an insecure and not very likable player and frontrunner. He played 8 seasons with Russ and had enough of it.
I don't know man. They were up 3-1, couldn't close it out, he chickened out and the rest is history. That's p**** in my book
I think KD was mad at LeBron for jumping ship and joining the cheat to ruin his run with okc, so he one up him joining the warriors
Lots of this is revisionist history. Those OKC teams were either the best team in the league each season or lost to the champions in the WCF. If it wasn’t for injuries and Durant choking they win 2-3 rings. 10/11 - Lose to Dallas in WCF (eventual champs) 11/12 - Lose to Miami in Finals (eventual champs) 12/13 - Bev injured Russ in 1st Round (favourites to win it all #1 offence and #4 Defence, best net rating in the league 60-22 record) 13/14 - Lose to Spurs in WCF (eventual champs) 14/15 - Kevin Durant out with broken foot for season 15/16 - Lose to GSW warriors in WCF (3-1 up) Those OKC teams were totally mismanaged and could never put any talent around two all time greats. Even with all that said, they were legitimate contenders for 6 straight years.
Durant left because the OKC media turned on him. He got sensitive and got his feelings hurt. They were calling him Mr Unreliable and a choker. No one actually thought he would go to Golden State and KD thought winning would rewrite his story, if anything it destroyed his reputation.
Revisionist history? So, they made the playoffs and never won a Championship. Big deal. With Harden, KD, Russ and Ibaka, they had more talent than anyone else. They didn’t get it done. They can hang all of their “we made the playoffs and the pundits considered us contenders” banners all they want.
Not enough talent? They had so much talent they couldn't afford to keep them and pay them. But they were solid, and there remains that little issue of KD didn't want to keep playing with Russ regardless.
