We failed at understanding the situation. Not only did we go all out on the players we were unlikely to sign, but we still failed AND we lost the chance to get guys that fit more readily into our needs/situation. Honestly, the thing that's most disappointing is that our pitches seemed so laughable. I mean last year Carmelo was supposedly almost swayed to us when he heard our pitch. Why is everyone laughing at it now?

You are correct, but if the reports said that we were impressive, then I wouldn't mind. Last season, all reports said that Melo was impressed by our presentation so we credited the FO for at least trying. This season, all reports say that the Lakers FO was "underwhelming" or "unimpressive". It makes me question what the heck they are doing.
I am not mad that they turned us down, but the fact that the management can't give good presentations really bugs me. I mean at least give the free agents something to think about. Hopefully, they learn their lessons by next year and give their best presentation to KD!
3 straight summers. This is embarrassing. The Lakers need to change their way of thinking. Stop bringing in TWC executives and pitching stupid stuff outside of basketball. Focus on how basketball and how you are going to improve them as an individual and as a team. No one cares about the "glamour" of Hollywood anymore, NO ONE. This FO needs to get their heads out of their a**** if they expect anyone to sign. What a joke.
What would you have them say? Our team stinks. There's not much for them to say on the basketball side.
