anyway, some interesting tidbits.

first, didn't know he and russell had already become golfing buddies.

second, it sure seems like ham wasn't sold on reaves when he got here, which...what were you watching last year, bro? i mean, this guy understands:

very encouraging stuff on the contract front, both in terms of the estimate (4/60 is lower than he'll get offered, imo) and in terms of direct quotes from him (and rob, to a lesser degree) about wanting to be here.

a little shade from rob to russ, too, imo--suggesting his presence (and maybe bevs) was holding reaves back. that could also be considered some shade for ham as well.

 

Yessir, but not all smiley’s are approved, and the big dog is quite busy. If we advance to round two, maybe we lobby for another update.

 

Still lobbying for a “nice” shot of Austin to replace THT here.

Contract info sounds good. I'm a little surprised at how up front Austin is about how important securing that bag is for him. He hasn't been agent polished yet, it's a little refreshing.


I don't think anyone missed Westbrook and should dump all the shade on him. Austin dodging Shams asking about him was telling.

3 ball was ugly (1/7) but we didn't need it.

 

Best margin of victory by a coach of a 7th seed vs a 2 seed in a close out game.

my man is already starting to lock down records. Highly impressive!

 

Steady all around. Yeah, he missed a lot of threes but everything else was great as usual.

 

Steady but a little sloppier than usual. Those missed 3s suck but he managed to adjust and attack in other ways.

 

Was careless on some passes on the halfcourt and missed open looks but he's still awesome. Crazy how good he's become. He's like guys like Lebron where a mediocre game for them is still a big net positive

 

Timing on those 2s he scored was impeccable. Each time... to not allow the momentum to shift.

 

The reporter just asked Austin “How was it playing out there with AD, LeBron, and DLo with their performances?”
I guess he didn’t realize Austin wasn’t too far off of a Triple Dubb. He also didn’t realize that Austin has consistently been the Lakers third best player since the All Star Break.
They will learn. It will take some time, but they will learn.
