Ham should have used him more. Dude goes 6-10 and 2-2 from 3, and Ham goes nah, don't need any more of that. 22 minutes. Unacceptable. Should have been closer to 30 min and 20+ pts.
or even Troy brown jr’s…. Why does Troy get so much freaking burn? He had like a handful of decent games making 3s in the reg season and that’s pretty much it. He only got PT once Lonnie went down. I can’t stand it.
That’s what I’m saying? Like why didn’t he eat some of Beasley and Troy’s minutes? He needs to play 30 plus minutes.
Agreed on that, I would rather Rui and Reaves get Troy's and Beasley's minutes. However I get it from a coaching point of view, trying to keep everyone engaged in a low pressure game.
Talk about stepping your game up for the playoffs, guy has been rock solid for us. It’s like he’s relishing in the challenge. I remember he was a gamer at Gonzaga, but so far it hasn’t translated to the league, maybe he’s finally putting it all together.
or at least give someone else a shot over beasley, feel like beasley getting pt cause of his contract
He's got a lot of holes in his game: A bit of the Tobias Harris why don't you play like this all the time. He's got poor vision in terms of passing and tends to not keep his head up when dribbling (this was a problem on a couple of fast break attempts last night) Not a great rebounder for his size. That being said fit and role matter and on the Lakers he's got basically 3 jobs: hit open shots, post up small dudes, and play defense. Not being asked to love up to a lottery pick status and being able to play off others my.ich easier on LA. He probably feels he knows what to do as well (Ham deserves credit for that benching of him and allowing him to respond to it). Plus it's a contract year!
Maybe helps he now has by far the best skills and developmental coach he's ever had who also worked with Kawhi Leonard? A lot of cachet there with the player to work really hard at what he's being told. Very much similar to how it was with Kobe's respect for Phil because he had coached MJ?
Maybe; but it's also easier for the coach when what he needs to work on is simplified. The Wiz needed him to be able to read defenses more like what Kuzma is doing for them and here it's just two things shoot if you're open, post up smaller dude, swing the ball
Yeah but there's a lot of improvement already with some really important skills to be starting to really excel at the mid level game plus 3, like Kawhi at that size, including his handles, footwork and stroke.
I love this kid and I’ve been vocal about it. He’s got so much upside. Honestly he’s proving to be our fourth best player behind Lebron AD and AR. Keep him around! He’s got a little Macadoo can do about him as a bench scorer.
