LOL. Here is an organization as dumb as ours. Nick, come on down. Goblin Bacon Pimple should vacate his spot.

one man's trash. ham should offer him an assistant spot.

bring him in as the tactician for one last run with the lebron/AD team next year, then he can go get his next HC gig.

Since DLo is a regular season performer, just “lowball” him at $20 mill per and see if he takes it. It is insane that a guy who can’t perform under pressure in his profession, will still get $20 to $25 million a year to play a GAME.

Our FO should replace Hambone with Nurse this summer, but they won’t. Remember, he was their “big free agent” acquisition this past summer.

i both hope not and doubt this comes to pass. but i get the general idea. once lebron's gone, we'll be looking for big names, and guys from smaller markets that haven't been successful are certainly going to headline that list.

btw, KAT is a FA after next year, when lebron's money comes off the books. minny's a mess, and if we keep russell, aren't they pals?

ingram is a FA the next year, and we like reunions.

and actually, i think we might try to nab dejounte murray before young. murray's a FA after next year, and, if he plays as well as he did this year, even the new extension rules will make it so that he shouldn't sign with the hawks. this fact also makes it harder for atlanta to trade him, as his contractual status would make him a flight risk anywhere. i'd keep an eye on that situation.

I like our team now, but I agree with Cranjis and this Jason Timpf thread. Probably would have been better to do the Indy trade, add Rui, and still have a shot at Vando too, apparently Utah wasn't getting other bites.

We have 2 more years of LeBron on the books .... No? Or is that what you mean with "btw, KAT is a FA after next year,"

i mean, except for the whole "2 unprotected future firsts" part. we'd be marginally better this year and in a lot of trouble a few years down the line. he kind of just dismisses that out of hand when it's really the whole issue. the indy deal would have gotten done if we were willing to sell literally everything not nailed down to finish 3rd instead of 7th this year. we're likely playing gs right now instead of memphis. is that outcome much better/different? would we be favored? would we be the betting favorite for the title? my answer to all that is no, and it's clear we came out much better overall.

it's a player option. so i suppose he could opt into it. i keep imagining he'll retire or change teams that year because that's when bronny comes in.

so yeah, technically this contract ends when ingram's does (year after next).

I think that team is substantially better than the current one, fills holes the Lakers currently have, is closer to the 2020 championship team, saves AD wear and tear making him better and available for more games, finishes #1 in the West, wins the West, and is in a fair fight against the winner of the East for the title.

...so, yeah, I think it's worth an additional FRP.

We may disagree on the above, but it's not unreasonable imo. Our current lineup went 18-8, which is a win pace of 69% and a 57-win team that would have finished #1 in the West already. I didn't analyze SoS, we probably wouldn't have finished quite as high, we were ultra motivated down the stretch, etc, but the point is - this is already a team towards or at the top of the West. If you agree that the above team is better, even marginally, than this team, then my above expectation is reasonable.

It all depends on DLo? He shows up the rest of the playoffs then everyone forgets the Hield/Turner deal. But right now losing one first rounder when the only guy showing up in the playoffs is Rui who was not part of the deal does look bad.

I'm a fan of Dlo and the trade so hopefully he'll make us forget the Indiana deal
