Sign Tobias already. Great fit at the 3.

Right now we are just a team with max space, easy to use for leverage.

How do you sift and determine who "seriously" wants a deal. The problem is us....we're so desperate for any max level free agent, it's like "hey i want to sign with the lakers too"

Everyone believes it because we entertain every damn FA. We need to put our foot down, sit in the meeting, say "sign this s*** now or we're taking the offer off the table"

    Russell
    Kobe
    Tobias
    Randle
    Robin lopez

Is a pretty solid lineup. We could do much worse

One more thought on the PP deal, really hurts the Wiz. They don't have their steady hand, veteran savior come playoffs. Otto and Oubre going to pick up the slack? Ha!

It's not terribly different than what they've been trying to do in Orlando and they aren't winning many more games than we are, but I agree basically. I don't know if we have enough to convince a guy like Robin Lopez to come here with that lineup. We'd probably have to go with Davis or more Asik since he seems out in NO. Maybe even a relative unknown like Koufos. Maybe even bring back Hill...

This feels like how it went for the Bulls before they drafted Derrick Rose.

More pressure on Russell and Randle to show some serious talent than ever.

^@therealdeal Well, we do have young talent that needs leadership and he won't have to put up with criticism that he has an easy path to The Finals every year. Gallows humor...

I get you and i do think that we need a star player because thats how the league has shifted but i just wish they had a better mentality about winning it all. I understand that its easier to just team up but that only works in some cases (i.e. lebum when he went to mia and when kg/pierce/allen did it) so i think the super team strategy is overrated

A team just has to evaluate what they have and acquire the right pieces that fit their team

For example if i was the lakers i'd look at what the warriors just did

They won with a dynamic backcourt a star forward and a 5 thats 6'7

If we have deangelo russell clarkson kobe & randle why were we looking at lamarcus aldridge when he doesnt even wanna play the 5 he doesnt fit

We need a sf and a rim protector if i was them id be looking at tobias jimmy butler and a 5 thats all defense like biyombo or lopez

Whether we win or not at least we'd have the right pieces.

For all we know or young guys might be the next stars

Regardless of what they said i think they were making a last ditch effort to win one before kobe calls it quits but they should be focusing more on the future

When we got kobe and shaq we had to wait 3 yrs before we won anything anyway, after shaq left we endured a few tough yrs until we got pau

I never thought we would get a major FA like LA or DJ. Wanted Tobias before the draft. Offer him and roll with Black, Davis and Upshaw.

@jerryr88 agreed 100, why haven't we had a meeting with Tobias Harris yet? who the F is going to play the 3 for us at this point?

At least Ed Davis can be a poor man's "rim protector"....I will s*** myself if Wes Johnson is wearing a Lakers uniform this season

Likely to be Kobe with Clarkson at the 2 if we can't find anyone else.
