What do you mean? Are you saying that I should switch my allegiance to the "flippers", which I am to assume is the Clippers?

I'm not going to panic yet, but so far, it doesn't look good.

It's not hopeless yet, there's still Jordan although that seems like nearly an impossibility . . . But really we should be banging down Harris' door. That's the only really good shot I can see right now.

Problem is Magic can match whatever we offer.

Yes on Jordan...and I have Scarlett Johansson waiting for me at home.

    Agree on Tobias Harris.

He should step down if the Lakers don't land KD. That would be the last straw.

Well, I had a big optimistic post yesterday, time for a little pessimistic one today. Yikes, what a day. If we miss out on every single one of our free agent targets, we could actually be worse than last year. Think about that.

If we miss on all the big names AND we watch Davis, Hill, Boozer, Lin, and Ellington go elsewhere, we're left to fill out the roster with the scraps left over. Last offseason all those guys I just listed WERE the scraps. :D Who the heck are we gonna get to sign one year deals this offseason? And the alternative, if we crawl back to Hill and throw a longer deal at him for the same, or MORE money, I will laugh, and then I will cry.

I would take Davis back, and Ellington back, the rest I want gone for better players, and now I'm not sure getting players just as good is possible. This could be ugly, that top 3 pick might be ours. I really hope it's not time to start looking at college players again before the season even starts. Something drastic needs to happen for us to get better in the next few days.

I don't think I can handle another season of losing, even if the team has a handful of exciting young players.

I was cautiously optimistic on LMA. He is the one of all the FA that I would have paid top $$ for. He is a complete player in his prime. Top 1 or 2 at his position and top 10 in the league most likely as well. In recent years this type of player doesn't move often so that made it even more important to get him.

In the end he went where a 30 year old, prime guy who wants to win should have if we pry the glasses off.

I like the youth, as untested as they are. My fear now is that the FO is even more desperate to make a splash for their fans and TV partners that they toss reason aside and go to the trade route and give us a guy like Cousins for the next 4 or 5 years to watch.

We could be very bad this upcoming season or we could have something in the young guys but the odds that they lift us up much over last year are not high.

Cousins... If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it is a duck...no way he helps this team out of the abyss...

If we traded our solid core of youth, or even 2 of 3 of them, for Cousins, I would lose it. I might switch to DirecTV and not pay the extra for the package with TWCSN included.

Time to see what we got in the youngins. No trade or FA left is going to make a significant impact now. Play it out and see if they can impress a FA next year I guess.

Potential Ellis and Rondo in Sacramento with Cousins and Karl [assuming he ain't canned yet]? Matches not needed...the sparks alone with that quartet will cause an explosion. Let's not forget the owner Vivek too who is a piece of work. They would make the 2004 Lakers look like kumbaya sing-along.

Lets assume Upshaw plays very well in the summer league and gets a gazillion blocks and what not...

Can anybody see us going into the season with 4 rookies when Mitch was already saying three might be too much?

    Russell / Clarkson
    Kobe / J. Brown
    Young / A. Brown
    Randle / Kelly
    Black / Sacre / Upshaw

I mean this team clearly lacks veteran presence. On the other hand, If Upshaw can keep himself away from stupidity, he is absolutely worth a try. In this situation, I really have no idea if the Lakers are ready to have Kobe surrounded by literally ZERO experience. Thats 7 players with one year or zero year of NBA basketball. Then there is Kelly and Sacre who are hopefully not expected to be anything and then Kobe and Young.

That would be crazy to me. Nobody on this team has played any significant pro ball except for Kobe and Young.

In other words...what do we do if Upshaw is good? Who gets cut or traded?
