Standings Watch: Race To The Playoffs

Clips treated it like a game 7. They will now tank a game to get to 6 to make the Warriors play the suns.

Need Ws to lose - but the two teams they play are sitting starters.

Need Pels to lose - but Knicks have no incentive to win. But Minny can beat them.

Clips control and WILL tank a game to get 6 if they can.

I really want the Clips and Suns to face off, then winner plays Denver. I like the Memphis route if we can get 7.

 

Clips are probably stucked with the fifth seed as they have the tie breaker over us and Warriors ( better division record than the Dubs)

If the Clips lose one on purpose , Warriors can still drop one on purpose and finish 6th if Lakers win out in a three way tie ( Warriors 3-5 against LA teams , Lakers 3-5 against Dubs and Clippers so the 6th seed goes to the team who won more division games which is the Warriors)

If Clips lose both games on purpose , they are in danger of making the play-in.

and if there are a 4 way tie with NOP , LA teams and GS , would be :

5th NOP
6th Clippers
7th Lakers
8th Warriors

The sweet irony here is that if GS loses on Friday and the Lakers end up in the coveted 6th seed, we’ll have the Clippers and this loss to thank for that.

sounds like phx is undecided on whether to rest guys. though i'm guessing the fact that they're discussing means they will. question is whether they do against us.

 

If the Ws win - Clips will certainly tank a game to make it a 3 way with 39 losses to force the Lakers into 7. The clips can prevent the Lakers from getting into the playoff, and forcing them into the play in. Crazy. Lakers need to focus on winning a home game against the Pels - then battling Ja and the Grizz.

Think about it. Clips can wait til Sunday and manipulate a whole lot. Heck, they could lose to make a 4-way (according to above) and let Pels get 5, they get 6, and force Lakers and Ws to play the first play in!!!

I just want the Clips to play the Suns. Will hate it if they get to destroy the Queens.

I don’t see anything as “exciting” except the Pels and Wolves game.

All other games involve a team resting players and gifting wins to teams. I doubt the Queens go all out against the Ws. Knicks resting guys. Grizz are locked.

I hope the Suns win tonight, lock 4, and sit their guys tomorrow. Would be dumb to play KD, CP3, and Book on a back to back for no reason.

Agreed. As annoying as losing that game was and watching some of lackluster, I don't give a crap play, I don't put much weight into it. I'm also still annoyed we gave them Zubac for nothing. He is exactly what we have been needing and has been a thorn in our side ever since. I also agree with f the clippers.

 

am i reading it wrong, though? the wolves have no incentive to win that game, assuming NO beats ny, who's sitting everyone.

again, can't believe the run of luck NO's had to end the year. not a single thing that didn't go exactly their way, every night.

though i guess their prize will be a first round series against full-strength phx. so, yay i guess.

 

Haven’t seen any updates to the Suns’ injury report, so I guess they’re playing everyone tonight?

 

I think the Wolves would want to win because it would tie them with Pels, and Wolves have tiebreaker over Pels, right? Depends, I guess, which teams would be tied in that scenario?
