Their pitch about history, strong tradition, and youth will definitely sound better to Jordan, so I guess it's worth a shot to talk to him at least, but it's a long long long long shot. Harris and Monroe better be on hold throughout the meeting.
Well for right now that is what Lakers can really only offer. We are not even close to contending but realistically with the spurs. How many years can they contend? To me it looks like next year is there final straw. They lost in first round and even with all of the resting popovich did and they still were injured or fatigued.

Jordan is the only one I think that might eat up the big market gab. But hell, he's already in a big market and nothing to show for it, even if it is the Flippers. The pitch for him needs to be him being a main option. That's what he wants. He won't get that with Dallas or the Clippers. Tell him we will build around him. Tell him the whole "big man history" spiel.
I wouldn't even touch the big man history thing because he's got to know that's BS. I'd try to sell him on increased jersey/merch sales, All-Star lock for four years, centerpiece on legacy franchise, he'd be the one leading the team of young guys, no more disrespect... But if he wants to win, it's probably not here with us.
