I came to post this last night, looked at his salary moving forward and had to delete it.

He won't be charged with any crime..so I wonder how long his stay away from the team will last.

Grizzlies star Ja Morant will not be charged with a crime following an investigation from the Glendale (Colo.) Police Department after the guard appeared on video in a club holding what appeared to be a gun Friday night. Here’s what you need to know:

• The department determined the incident took place at Shotgun Willies, a nightclub in Glendale, Colorado, during their lawful operating hours, and that they were “not able to determine that probable cause existed for the filing of any charges.”
• The police department added that “no one was threatened or menaced with the firearm and in fact no firearm was ever located.”
• Morant has been away from Memphis since March 3, when the Grizzlies fell to the Nuggets. After the game, Morant was seen in an Instagram Live video flashing what appeared to be a gun in a nightclub.
• In a statement later Saturday, Morant said he takes “full responsibility for (his) actions last night” and is “going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and (his) overall well-being.” Morant added: “I’m sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis and the entire Grizzlies organization for letting you down.”

What else the statement said
“On March 4, 2023, the Glendale Police Department was alerted by members of the media of video circulating on the internet that involved a prominent NBA player signing and holding what appeared to be a firearm by the butt end of a gun for several seconds.”

“In this case, it should be noted that on the night in question the GDP did not receive any calls for service at the nightclub regarding a weapon of any type. Subsequently, no disturbances were reported, and no citizens or patrons of the club came forward to make a complaint.”

“Although the video was concerning enough to prompt an investigation, there was not enough available evidence to charge anyone with a crime.”

Backstory
On Saturday, the Grizzlies announced that Morant “will be away from the team for at least the next two games,” after an NBA spokesman said the league was investigating a social media post showing the video of Morant in the club.

The NBA also recently investigated another incident involving Morant, first reported by The Athletic, after acquaintances of Morant aggressively confronted members of the Pacers traveling party near the team’s bus in the loading area of FedExForum, and later someone in a slow-moving SUV — which Morant was riding in — trained a red laser on them.

In that same game, an acquaintance of Morant’s named Davonte Pack wandered to half court while verbally sparring with Pacers players and was ejected by game officials. Pack was subsequently banned from Grizzlies games for a year.

Morant is averaging 27.1 points per game this season for Memphis, which is in a tie for the second-best record in the Western Conference as of March 7.

Morant being away from the Grizz for longer only furthers my dream scenario of snagging the 7 seed and matching up with the Kings in the first round. #1 it's just a super fun matchup, its only appropriate their first time back in the playoffs is against us. #2 I'd give us a very good shot of winning that if LeBron is healthy. Please basketball gods, let it happen.
