i think we should try to keep rui, but we definitely shouldn't break the bank to do so. i'm talking like 8 per (just over tax mle). i hope we have good enough relations with him and his agent to facilitate a s&t if he gets a bigger offer elsewhere.
I'd be OK with $8-10m. Three for $29m with the 3rd being a PO seems fair based on what we've seen so far.
there's a reason we could trade a dead guy and 2nds for him. i still like what he brings in a 20mpg bench role. let's see how it develops.
I think he and Vando need the team to be whole more than any other players on the roster. Surprising given their skills and style of play shouldn't require that. But I've seen the biggest drop off with those two (Vando did have a good bounce back tonight though).
totally agree. they're both great complimentary players who look bad in central roles. that's why we got them. let's capitalize.
Rui really needs to start stepping up his production. There is no reason he can't. I've seen enough from him in terms of his offensive skill to know that he can get his own out there. He needs to be much more assertive. He's a big dude with a good quick first step, a killer midrange shot and some real athletic ability. We've seen a lot more from him than this, and this is NOT the time for him to get shy. I want him to at least bring much more energy.
There is not much in his repertoire besides his midrange game . He's an ok bench player , nothing more
Need to classify these roleplayers by a good game/bad game ratio - Troy is going for 3:1 recently, Rui trending the other way 1:3.
Well, this pattern of inconsistency was the big knock on him with the Wizards. Maybe we can't fix that, but I'm all in on signing him to a reasonable deal and seeing what Handy can do with a full training camp.
