You gotta wonder who's minding the store in Utah. They should report a crime: Lakers stole an all-world defensive player from them. Do they even know it to this day?
You keeping leaving out the two first round picks it took to convert KCP and Kuz into these three guys (I’ll give you a pass on Trez). You could absolutely convert Kuz, KCP, and two FRPs into D-Lo, Beasley and Vanderbilt.
Oh OK....so it's really more about Westbrook to you, than it ever was with me. How in the hell was it a mistake? We acquired 3 starters for him. Lebron/AD/Westbrook played 44 games together and went 22-22. You of all people, constantly talk about how we aren't going to win without AD and Lebron playing. So we acquired an asset, and then flipped him, for more assets than we gave up for him. What the hell is the problem here? I don't follow the logic in your argument. We should have never traded for Russ, yet we weren't going to win with KCP and Kuz, with Lebron and AD out anyway. We definitely can't get D'Angelo, Jarred and Malik for them, they only make 24 million between them in the first place. Yet somehow... the Russ trade was some huge mistake, and failure? FOH with that noise man. Turned out to be a great trade IMO.
How? They didn't make enough money to make that trade, D'Angelo makes 4 million more than both of them combined. They were on 12 million dollar contracts when the Westbrook trade went down.
You can't make the trade happen without the contract, that's the point about Westbrook's value as an asset. We flipped him for more than we gave up for him. The FRP we gave up for him, allowed us to have that huge expiring contract to trade. D’Angelo is our former 2nd pick overall and has made an All-Star team, he, Jarred and Malik were well worth another FRP for 3 starters all under 26. That's a great trade, and it couldn't happen ,if we didn't trade for Westbrook first.
unreal game from Vando. best defensive job I've seen anyone do on Luka for a long time plus contributed on offense and boards as well
yr logic is faulty AF, the russ trade was a BIG failure and got corrected....your reason for it as a success a season and a half later is idiotic, thats like saying trading caron butler for kwame was a success cause kwame got traded for Pau 3yrs later smfh
Everything I said was facts. You just can't see the forrest for the trees. How in the hell was it some big failure? Russ/Lebron/AD played 44 games together total, they were 22-22 that's not some BIG failure anyway. We traded for an asset, and then traded that asset, for even better assets. WTF are you even talking about? You are the first one around here, to claim that we can't win without a healthy Lebron and AD. In your case, AD ain't gonna ever stay healthy anyway. What would we have gained by keeping those guys, armchair, GM genius? Now you are talking against yourself, just to claim some " victory " that Westbrook wasn't some kind of great player? Who gives a f***? It worked out great for us didn't it? I'd still make that trade all day everyday. Your take is idiotic, you are still more concerned with Russ the player, than what was best for the team. You still can't explain how in the hell that we could flip Kcp and Kuz, for D'Angelo, Jarred and Malik can you? You are just flailing about, making noise about some irrelevant s***.
The combo of AD and Van’s defense down low has been very complementary. They played off of each other really well a few times when one was the primary defender, the other waited for the block or to disrupt the shot from the weak side and they’re both aware enough to not give up passing lanes for the kick out or cutter while they do it. Vanderbilt is like having another mini AD on defense lol
I LOVE this guy!! Energy, energy ... and more energy! He's incredibly fun to watch and root for. Vando!
I was honestly thinking this morning that maybe Ainge wanting a first for Vanderbilt wasn’t such a crazy thing after all. Lol
Ainge maybe overplayed his hand and waited too long for a sweeter deal until the deadline forced him to go with the best available offer. At least we’re all happy with a 23 year old second coming of Dennis Rodman or at least Jerome Junkyard Dog Williams
Vanderbilt’s defense is infectious. Just watch how his teammates like Brown and Hachimura start to raise their levels defensively.
Didn't Minny put him the Gobert deal? What a dumb deal. Wolves has a nice thing going there. Now they got rid of their defensive stopper and their young PG
