59 games out of 82 played, AS Break, Lakers 5 games under .500 and it seems dubious they'll even make the play-in for the second season in a row. It's dire, aye. Last two seasons have been traumatic for us longtime Laker stalwarts. And yet, ya know what? I'm already worried about my Laker fix. Next real game: the 23rd. In EIGHT effing days. Man, I got it bad. Imma be strung out by the morning of the 23rd. It's a real sickness, y'all. Some of you know it.
the Lakers have pretty much cured me of my sickness, but part of me wants it back. I want to put the games on my calendar. I want to rework my schedule to watch exciting and entertaining games. Just give me a reason.... Could be the first time a play in team makes it super deep in the playoffs, you never know. With some of our undesirable characters gone, maybe we'll have watchable basketball now.

My WMC for the day is directed at the NBA and not the Lakers (since we won): 1) trade deadline should be after the all star break. It let's the GMs and players mingle and discuss deals in one location. Players on the block get asked about it during the weekend, that's good material. AND it adds drama/ excitement to the team captain selecting his roster. Is he (Bron) selecting player x because he wants his team (the Lakers) to go out and get him? 2) the trade deadline and all star break should be at the midpoint of the season. Not with 20 something games left. That's b*******. I would have the all star break, trade deadline that next day (trade deadline Monday following the all star weekend would be wild!), then teams still have 2-3 days or so to work in their new players and maybe have a couple practices. THEN go play the final 40(ish) games.
