Simple question, which team do you think wins a 7 game series?

2009 Lakers: 65-17, 3rd in Off Rtg, 6th in Def Rtg, +8.1 Net Rtg, 7.11 SRS

    Fisher / Farmar
    Kobe / Brown / Vujacic
    Ariza / Walton / Radmanovic
    Gasol / Odom / Powell
    Bynum / Mbenga / Mihm

    2020 Lakers: 52-19, 11th in Off Rtg, 3rd in Def Rtg, + 5.7 Net Rtg, 6.28 SRS

    Bradley / Caruso / Rondo
    Green / KCP / Waiters
    LeBron / Kuzma
    AD / Morris / Dudley
    McGee / Howard

The numbers favor the 09 team, but the 2020 team was peaking right as the regular season got cut off. I think both teams have good options to defend the other, and both would play smaller with Gasol and AD at the 5, respectively. I think I might actually pick the 2020 team just because I don't see a great physical matchup for LeBron and AD's athleticism would really bother Pau.

Great hypothetical matchup and a prime Kobe vs having grown in his skills still prime LeBron. Not to mention Pau and AD and all the other intriguing matchups. Hard to guess, for me not having thunk it through yet or voted, which roster will come out on top. My heart is overwhelmingly with the 2009 Champs. BUT then again they did not have the Eagle!

    That's a surprisingly good matchup
Assuming Pau/AD and Kobe/Lebron basically neutralize each other I think it comes to how much advantage the 09 Lakers have with Odom as the 3rd star vs heavy guard advantage outside of Kobe for '20 (group by committee)

2009. Bryant had that "seek and destroy" mentality.

Good matchup. If it wasn't for Phil I'd be undecided, but Phil is the better coach, so 2009 Lakers.

We’re really gonna compare Kobe’s dominant 2009 team with the 2020 Bubble kings.

    09 Lakers for sure

i'm on team 2009, but the closing lineups with gasol and AD at center would have been epic to watch.

i actually think AD erases pau in isolation, which mucks up the offense a bit, but pau was such a good passer that the offense could survive. and pau could actually bother AD as an iso defender in 2009 with his length and iq.

2009 kobe torches 2020 lebron if they matchup on either end, imo.

    09. Kobe, Phil, and DJ dominate in their matchups and give that team the edge.

I still hate we were robbed and never got a Kobe vs Bron Finals.
