Wasn't thinking about that and my hat's been totally off to him for coming here in the first place, literally rescuing the franchise, bringing us AD and one championship .... so far.

I'm sad to see Thomas Bryant go. Is he a superstar? No. Not even close. He's a blue-collar always hustling, making the most-of-his skillz dude. I'm always rooting for guys like that...unless they seem to take themselves too seriously, like PJ Tucker, for example: ever see that guy smile?

Man, I'm gettin old, my friends.

When I was a kid, the trading deadline wasn't anything I paid much attention to. If the Lakers were good, maybe one move or zero. If they sucked, I just dealt with it, never thinking any move was going to "cure" them of losing immediately, post-haste, right effing NOW, mfer!

As I got older, I followed all the chatter about who might do what to make a run, etc.

Now? I have vertigo from all the changes. I need to go lie down, slowly deal with it.

The guy was such a tunnel vision, aggressive, high motor beast around the rim .... physically ..... to put the ball in the basket. I really don't understand how some of that doesn't translate to the other side of the ball? Wish him well!

I liked Bryant too, but Lakers had no chance of resigning him next Season. Bamba is a much better defender, can actually stretch the floor & is on a manageable $10mil contract next year.

I honestly can’t remember a trade deadline with so many moves.

Bron is resting because the season starts soon. We gotta come out firing and I honestly think we will.

We have shooters now, better spacing and length. I think we win the close ones now and that gets us over the hump.

I wouldn’t mind us grabbing Kevin Love just to have some additional height and outside shooting in a reserve role.

Yea man! I dig Mo Bamba. Good move. I was just saying I like dudes like TB, with the work ethic, no drama, no BS, etc.

With all these moves, I'm hoping the optimism I see here over the moves of the past 10 days infect me. Mo Bamba, mo winnin! (?)

i don't think his defense is an effort issue. he's not super sharp, and he's got really bad feet, imo. when he gets to decide his movements and attack, he's good. when he has to think and react, he's in trouble. it's why AD is so good: he can read and react at his size and has really good feet, especially for a guy that big.

i don't think bamba has bryant's motor, so we'll miss seeing that as fans. but he has physical gifts that bryant doesn't. if it's bryant at the minimum or bamba at 10 million, i might even take bryant (probably not, but i'm definitely a hustle fan), but bryant is going to want to be paid more next year, and bamba is under contract at a reasonable number.

anyway, longwinded way of saying i'll miss TB, but i think the team will be fine.

Well, in the old days, you didn't have the internet to have everyone talking about EVERYTHING. I cannot imagine how much chatter there would have been about Jabbar being traded to the Lakers, or even Wilt. But with no vehicle for the masses to communicate, it was all up to the radio, TV and newspapers to spread the news, and they were notoriously slow with getting this kind of stuff out there.

yeah, though TB's wingspan is 7'6", and he has high shoulders, so he's no slouch there, if you will.
