Couldn't have traded Bryant for a guy above 6'5? lol

Well, that adds clarity. Don't blame him for wanting out.

not to mention that the last two games i wanted gabriel taking all his minutes anyway. teams were just killing him on defense. let's bring huff up.

Funny enough, smaller guys have actually had more success defending Jokic recently. Draymond did pretty well in the playoffs last year and the Sixers turned their game against the Nuggets around a week or two ago when they put PJ Tucker on Jokic.

I’m sad to see Thomas Bryant go. He was fun to watch in his second stint here. But he wasn’t going to play alongside AD apparently because of his terrible D and he was going to be overpriced as a backup C most likely next year. Well, here’s hoping we get a big and a SF or combo SF/SG in one final trade.

shorter but strong, not thin guys, though. he just bodies them all the way under the hoop and drops it in on them. i'd play jokic with a stump, too. make him shoot over the top. he can, but it's the lesser sin.

The Knicks picked up Hart yesterday, it would make a lot of sense if part of that was knowing they'd be losing Barrett and/or Grimes in a LaVine trade.

that seems unfair and also unlikely to be based on folks from the inside, right?

unless they meant that just the whole situation was really draining, which is true. but i doubt russ himself was just pulling everything down.

For sure, yeah Vanderbilt doesn't fit that profile. It would be awesome to see LeBron try to guard him but not likely.

It feels like piling on after the fact, but I really do think the weird vibe around LeBron breaking the record had a lot to do with Russ and his issues bubbling over with the coaching staff.

i think you could see it down the stretch in a playoff game, tbh. AD actually does a pretty good job on him, too. you just don't want either guy contending with that for 40 minutes.

I like the Thomas Bryant move - for once we're being smart about who we can actually keep and who we can actually get picks/assets out of in a trade.

Next up, Lonnie Walker and Pat Bev...although I would NOT be surprised if we dumped Dennis schroder too for a similar reason to Thomas Bryant....he's outplayed his current contract and he's likely going to get paid more than what we can pay him.

Either way - I like that we're using these guys to get assets that we can use in other deals. Very smart.

Gabriel does a lot of dirty work underneath that Bryant won't even attempt to and he gives effort on the defensive side even with the height difference.

Vanderbilt is underrated IMO and I really like the nastiness he could give us.

Not sure Rob has another trade in him in this last hour and a half....

It’s entirely possible, here’s the video of that vampire quote, I do think he was a drain on our team a good amount of the time. I don’t think it’s necessary to put stuff like this out there though, not a good look for us

This trade deadline is essentially our offseason. Rob started early and I'm liking all the moves already.

Best part is - we still have our 2023 pick which we can also use as an asset...

Ham might walk out if we trade away his guy.

well that and bryant asked out, so i think it's a win/win

if schroder and ham are as tight as it seems, i think we could keep him on a low salary, tbh. these relationships can matter. i think batum stayed with the clippers for less money despite richer offers because he liked lue and the organization. i feel like we treated schroder pretty well during both his stays here.
