The front office needs to pivot or I think Lebron asks out before training camp next season.

thats fine, need to start over, Bron requesting a trade would be a blessing instead of continuing the build a team of vet minum guys year over year

I’m aware that he’s only eligible for the 2 years, and if he wouldn’t take that I don’t blame our FO for not making the trade. I’m not giving up the 2 picks for a guy that can bolt in the off-season, especially for a guy like Kyrie who changes his mind daily. The Mavs will now have to wait til the summer to negotiate with him, and to me that’s terrifying. I actually think this increases the chances Russ is moved for multiple pieces, they’re clearly talking to teams about him. The west remains wide open

Unfortunately folks, as I mentioned there were significant headwinds from the start in getting Irving to LAL. Seems that his camp never went the route I suggested, and BKN obviously moved swiftly here. I had very little information flow down through the pipeline on my side, which is usually an indication that things did not go too far on the LAL side.

I would imagine there may be some curiosity to see what Durant is up to. I’ll let you know if I hear anything more on that front. Have some travels coming up midweek so might be a bit slow here, but will do my best.

    Take care everyone!!

I don't trust Ham with multiple pieces lol. This dude is going to play AD/Lebron entire 4th quarter while he plays Bevs, Schroeder and Conley with them

Buyout market here we come LOL.
I guess Jeanie and Rob will let Russ expire, Walker to walk, save some 50-60mil. Not bad i guess...

We should be looking into moving him and Davis tbh... Bron won't fetch much but we can still get a haul for Davis.

Think about it.. We traded for Russ and every single piece we lost is more valuable alone possibly with the exception of Harrell. ( I'd even say Harrell is zero value,. while Russ is negative)

Kuzma, KCP, 1st rounder... Then letting Caruso go for nothing. All by themselves way for valuable than Russ. What a disastrous trade.

I don’t trust Ham with Kyrie either. I don’t think we have a shot this year, no matter what trade outside of some star like Kevin Durant. The Pelicans game made me lose faith in Ham’s ability to coach a team to a title, he regularly gets outcoached.

Right..I'm not sure why everybody kept talking about a 4 year extension. That was with the Nets. We would have gotten the rest of this season, to get a gauge on how he fit with LeBron and AD. SMH..at least it wasn't the Clippers.

Why would you play in Dallas without an extension and now without two key contributors and not just ride it out in Brooklyn with KD back and at least a somewhat title contender?

Irving in Dallas, especially with the two players just gave up; does not make them a title contender...

Evidently he just didn't want to play for Brooklyn anymore period. Whether KD was his friend or not.

In the off-season haha. Bron passing Kareem in a Lakers uniform is the most important thing to the front office

I was mistaken: if he holds out he is eligible for a 4 year. No way he takes the 2 year which is available now.
I would have done it but I'm a gambler and I don't think anyone beat a trio of AD, Lebron, Kyrie - he's a perfect for this team

After we won that chip, I don't think anyone would have had a problem, with signing him for 4 years either.

The Nets owner probably said anywhere but the Lakers, since that's where he wanted to go. Looks like it became personal to me.
KD will probably end up getting traded anywhere but where he wants to go too. He has even less leverage than Kyrie. Once Kyrie said that he wasn't resigning with Brooklyn even if they offered the max, you had to know that he was getting moved before Thursday.

everyone was talking about it because...he hasn't taken the 2-year extension (and isn't going to). we wanted him to agree to that in order to give up major assets. that makes sense to me. worst case for dallas, they got off salary and moved only one 1st many years out.

i wouldn't have given 2 unprotected without the extension, and he wasn't going to do the extension. plus, dallas had two guys that are nba starters to offer in addition to their pick. we had zero of those, really. it would be like, i don't know...if we had kcp and kuz to offer!!!!

This is what happens when you don’t have useful players on MLE money deals. You have to have KCP, Kuz, etc type players. Nobody wants Beverley, nobody wants Russ, you have to have players teams want. Players like that get stars, or players on star level contracts. Without those type of players all we have to offer are the picks and expiring money. I cannot be upset at this, too big of a risk for us. Hopefully we move Russ for a few of those type of players that give us future flexibility, the 3 stars and 8 minimums thing really limits what you can do.
