Suck it up and be a man is an incredibly damaging, dated, and frankly dumb POV. I don’t think people understand that when you make enough/have enough money to not care about money, the difference between being an uber millionaire and someone who makes a great living aren’t big.

It doesn’t simply erase other areas and aspects of your life just because you make money. I grew up with nothing and so did my wife, we both now never have to worry/fret about money. Guess what, life’s still hard lol. There are new challenges.

For Russ, being despised in your hometown and criticized for every single thing he does would take a toll. You’re clueless if you think because he has a nice house that that s*** doesn’t matter.

Imagine having a son, him making a ton of money then calling you when he becomes a dad like “life’s hard dad” and your response is “grow up and be a man”. It’s just idiotic advice.

Last thing Ballmer wants is Irving in Purple and Gold.

We saw this same thing play out with Leonard...and truth is they have better players to trade to Brooklyn...

As for the Lakers, someone please tell me why Ham thinks PatBev is the guy to guard Ingram?? Wtf did we trade for Rui if it isn't to be guarding the big quick forwards. Ingram owning us in the second half and Rui nesting on the pine:Kobe Shrug:

I couldn’t give a rats a** if you think my POV is “outdated” or “dumb.” There are millions of people on this planet who have and are still struggling daily just to put enough food in their bellies to survive day to day. I hope one day you can wake up and realize real struggle, real pain, and real life.
Pathetic that folks feel sorry for these babied millionaires.

He said, WITH HIS OWN MOUTH, that he loves playing for the Lakers because he can be at home with his family and take his kids to school. This is what’s important to him and I agree.
Keep shedding tears for this poor soul who is so “damaged” by society.
Go through some serious things in your life and I guarantee your opinion of these “difficult lives” that millionaire, coddled basketball players have to lead will change.

There are and that is a type of challenge. My parents were on welfare most of my early childhood so I can relate. I’m just saying don’t be so narrow-minded and think that money is the only challenge people face?

Assuming people are babied millionaires? Most of them come from nothing. Don’t hate them for making it.

I have a feeling Kyrie ends up with the Clippers. They likely could put together a package of useful roleplayers to salary match, and they could also trade their 2027 and 2029 first round picks as well.

If they offered Luke Kennard, Covington, Terence Mann and a protected FRP… I don’t see how the Lakers can do better just because Westbrook had no value as a player

I don't think they want to give Mann. They'll probably want to swap in Jackson and a additional 2nd along with the other pieces you mentioned (Kennard, Covington, protected 1st)

Yeah it’s not worth gambling the future for this team as constructed just punt it. Happy for the Rui move but I don’t think Ham can use Irving well enough to make a difference in our fate.

Lakers "could" easily beat it if they got a third team involved (which they would likely need to do anyway); especially if it is Jackson (and not Mann- the prize of the three) because of the Nets needing a PG. Brooklyn would be committing to 40-50 million over the next couple of seasons for two of those players as well (Luke and Robert)....and I doubt the Clippers are interested in taking anyone else back (they technically cant)...

Lakers could not only beat that package, but likely take Harris' 20 million off their books for 2023-24 as well....

clippers owe their '26 pick to okc, so they only have their '28 to offer.

Well I’m not looking forward to see Kyrie at small forward, let’s not waste our future on that trade. Let the Clips further deplete their team’s present and future assets for a guy who also won’t play half the season.

It comes down to what the Nets want to do with the rest of this season. If they want to win as many games as possible and contend (which is completely delusional, IMO) then we’re not getting Kyrie. They’ll ship him to the Clips for Morris/Kennard/whatever, the Suns for CP3 or the Mavs for some combination of Dinwiddie/Wood/THJ/DFS. If they just want to get assets for Kyrie, our 2027 and 2029 picks are pretty clearly the best assets on the table right now. I’ve already accepted they’ll trade Kyrie to someone else for mediocre role players, after which they’ll promptly lose in the first round and KD will ask out again.

    Significant update from Woj

Ball is in Kyrie's court to tell teams where he's willing to extend. Otherwise I'd say it's Suns, Clipps, Lakers, Mavs in that order.

According to Woike the 4 year deal would be an issue in any Kyrie talks, we'd want to do two years and line it up with Bron and AD
