If this HAS to happen, I’m not giving up 2 firsts, I’m just not. Nets have even LESS leverage now than the off-season, he’s demanding out or he says he’ll walk. Not giving up 2 firsts, it’s 1 first, and I might even want another of their good players with him for taking the risk.

I won't argue with this...I'm good with us parting with both picks but that shouldn't be our starting position...Russ + 1 pick and then we use the other pick to get another player (Bogdanovic? Gary Trent? Hield?)

Number of firsts really depends on the whole package of players.

    No one guards Haliburton effectively.

Boy that would be overkill. I have no idea how we would survive with a roster of only vet mins.lol

I'm uncharacteristically ambivalent about Kyrie. One the one hand, he is absolutely good enough to make us a contender, and on paper, he's worth the asking price (at least the hypothetical asking prices being bandied about). But I also agree that he is a HUGE risk. If the Westbrook trade didn't manage to set us back a decade, the Kyrie trade could. So rather than triggering a chemical balance by investing my emotions in the moment to moment breathless reporting on this (remember Kawhi and Raptors' plane?), I'm just gonna let it play out. If he ends up here, then I'll root for it to work out. If he ends up on any other team (BKN included), I'll root for that team to implode. Beyond that, it's all out of my control.

It would have to be the claw or George. Balmer might go for the most injury prone of the two

Yes, exactly. Adding Kyrie doesn’t fix our lack of shooting, we would still need to add a shooter. That’s why in addition to other reasons I listed this doesn’t excite me, I’d much rather go the depth route.

    That’s my take too.

I just don’t know about this one. Huge ceiling for this trade depending on the other pieces going out and coming in, but the whole thing might blow up in our faces as well.

    I just don’t know

The amount of games we would have won this year just by replace Russ for Kyrie has to be at least 5. Westbrook is so easily replaceable.

Love the sequence of Kyrie events lately, 3 days ago he was on YouTube celebrating Lebron and his career and now requesting a trade. Hmmmm.

Kyrie is one of the best shooters in the league man. What are you even talking about here? I can understand not wanting the guy, but damn...Kyrie Irving doesn't fix our lack of shooting is a totally ridiculous take. He shoots better from the field and 3 than every single player you have ever named as a "shooter".
