Dallas puts the full court press on Jordan early. Feeling a little more optimistic on that front than Aldridge I suppose.
Marc Stein✔@ESPNSteinLine Also hearing Mavs have split up their recruiting posse and are conducting two meetings at present: One with DeAndre; one with Wes Matthews
I think Pincus hit it on the head with his Sign and Trade idea for LMA. Randle is a great piece for Portland in rebuilding mode. Young as their 6th man makes sense because they don't have another scorer to go with Lillard, but at the same time he won't win them too many games to mess up a high pick. Randle/Vonleh/Plumlee gives them a very nice young front court to develop while they build around Lillard. Signing DJ has to give us the edge over SA.
With a C rotation of Black/Upshaw/Sacre? If we sign LMA without going after Jordan, we better get the Biz. And no, Ed Davis as much as I like him isn't a better option. Much better on offense, but isn't close to the defender Biz is
Randle off the bench for 4 years backing up a guy playing 35+ minutes a game. How do you develop "beast" in 15 minutes a game? He's not a SF. He'd be better off being traded so he can develop. Why would he want to waste his rookie contract off the bench? That doesn't get him a shot at a big contract. I bet he'd be asking for a trade if we sign LMA. at the end of the day LMA is the best possible option for us. He gives us a scorer in the paint and a legit threat late in games. It's too bad that he happens to be a PF and one of our better prospects plays that position but that's how it goes. Eddie Jones had to go for a better player once upon a time.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone so intent on trading Randle. What did he do to you? Julius is 20 years old. You don't think maybe a 20 year old could spend some time developing slowly behind one of-if not the- best power forwards in the game? No, better to trade him asap for whatever we can.
Yeah I'm not in favor of the sign and trade. I am tired of the lakers giving away draft picks/draftees as if they are useless. The person who has been here the longest that was actually drafted by the lakers is I think Robert sacre who will be entering only his fourth year followed by Ryan Kelly who is entering his third year and both of them will likely be gone soon. On top of that, I don't think we have first round picks for the next two years. We gotta keep some of our draft picks, right?
I bleed purple and gold.... lived in both places and I have a choice where to live now and don't live in either.
^^ I'm with you Real.. But, if we get LMA & have to give up one of our 3 young guns to get a serviceable center.. It's gonna be Randle.
I really don't like Biyombo that much and I think if you offer Davis a starting position next to Aldridge he signs for whatever cash we can create for him. I'd prefer Davis to Biyombo, but even using your preference if we find a way to dump Nick Young's contract we can get enough cash for a starting caliber Center.
