Detroit plans on building around a 34 year old Bogdonavic next season? Meh

I expect the price tags for some of these guys, are going to drop dramatically in about 10 days. We might see a flurry of deals going done in a few.

Hard to imagine us trading Walker back to the Spurs after they let him go.

kawhi only went there because they were able to acquire PG. if they hadn't, he probably stays in toronto (which he should have done anyways) he was never going to join the lakers and play 3rd fiddle behind lebron and AD

he's a f***ing weirdo anyways so naturally he'd play for the clippers

If OG moves to the West, I hope it’s to us. He puts Phoenix and Memphis over the top in my opinion.

I think Phoenix is done, the cliff has come for Paul and Ayton hates being there. Memphis, though, they’d be scary if they upgrade from Brooks to OG.

Memphis, probably. Ceiling for Phoenix is fools gold with their injuries and everything else going on over there.

    First, on our trade
Suns planning for life after CP3
Holmes could be a buyout candidate
How did things go so sideways for him? He was beasting two years ago. There has to be more to this than is public knowledge.

I don't see us trading Walker at all. I'm not sure why folks are speculating that. He's a good player and I'd love to see him back. He's also a Klutch client and he's been a terrific Malik Monk replacement. Pat Bev should be the one going out in trade. You don't need to include Walker at all in a trade for a $19 million return. You can get Bogdanovich for Pat Bev, Jones and JTA. I've been saying it for a while and you can see it works in the trade machine. Walker is a guy we should be keeping.

Phoenix has some protections, but will still be paying for this decision for awhile yet

He was very good for us to start the year and was our third best offensive weapon to start. He was a very pleasant surprise. A lot has changed since. Russ settled into a role, DS came back and is eating big minutes, Bryant emerged as a scoring threat, and we just traded for Rui who will get the chance to get double digits nightly. I don't see the role on this team that Walker thrived in. If he can't get enough touches or the rhythm to be a microwave scorer, he's no good to us.

I'm not looking to give him away, but word is we're not done shopping. So if we're looking for a shooter, which seems the most likely option, that's yet another mouth to feed. Keeping Walker at that point seems silly. If we're making another trade and I can use him to secure a more consistent defender (his D took a dive) and/or a specialist caliber shooter, I send him on his way.

Considering CP3’s consistent unavailability every season, and his age, I balked at that deal they gave him.
I’m still under the impression that we won’t have the money to pay Walker this summer, especially if he comes back and plays as well as he did pre-injury.
I like the kid, but it’s no secret that the FO is determined to not pay the repeater tax next season.

It really does make a lot of sense to do this deal. Just cross our fingers on health. If Rui's first year of his new deal is around 10 million as he predicts it really fits into our budget while filling a position of severe need even of it's not filled by a superstar but someone who could develop and seems like the type to put his head down and go to work. Team player. Only 24 years old and is a late starter in b-ball, this guy really may not be near his prime yet. This way we still have near 30 million with the MLE to do some work and we need to resign Reaves. Maybe Walker too.

I really like him too, but I’m not confident we’ll be able to retain him while also paying Reaves, Rui and potentially others this summer. If including Walker with Pat Bev in a trade for someone like Trent Jr. saves us some draft capital I think we have to consider it.

We can always use shooting. And Walker can do that from a bench role as well. The thing is you don't need to move him to get another good player. You can just use Beverly, Jones and JTA none of whom have done much for us. Walker has.

Don't see how it saves us anything. I mean I like Gary Trent and where you are trying to go but long term he has a PO this summer and (I believe though not sure) is likely to opt out @ 19 million. Either way, he comes with a hefty price tag and Lonnie is not gonna command that kind of paper. Gary gives you a tiny bit more size and crosses over into the tiny small forward realm and is gonna defend better. Shooting %s are very equal and Lonnie is gonna give about the same production based on minutes at least playing here with LBJ & Co. You are paying a tremendous bill for some better D with GT. Should be mentioned that Lonnie has become a better defender here as well.

Just hoping his health record scares off suitors. Also his problems with consistency. He had like 3 years with the Wiz @ 8 mil per and they let him walk so I think that history will tame the offers. The kid may be better suited as a complimentary piece to AD, come in and pound a little (though his effectiveness there leaves a little to be desired) and hit a few 3s, spread the opponent's D, especially their bigs, let their big chase TB out to the 3 pt line and let AD operate over a smaller crowd. Unless TB has like a 35-game run of just absolute beast-ball I don't think his stock has done very much but his certainly not going to command a vet min again unless an injury is forthcoming. Personally, I find it interesting how easy other bigs seem to post him up.
