You’re right, I just really don’t want him back, like to see us go in a different direction. I’ve warmed up to him a lot, but I still just don’t want him here beyond this season. I’m not sure he wants to keep doing the bench role beyond this season either, he may, I’m just not sure if given a choice to start and close somewhere else he wouldn’t take that.

This doesn't make much sense. I get the interest in Richardson, but the acquisition of Hachimura reduces the need for McDermott. Don't even get me started on Poertl. Sure he is a good NBA center, but what would we need him for? He cant shoot a lick from the outside, he cant even make free throws. Why would we need the lane clogged even more? I don't understand why a few people keep mentioning him. Laker fans would be pissed after watching the exasperated spacing issues after adding Poertl. Besides that, if we do elect to go with a traditional center alongside AD, we have Bryant for that already, who would provide the shooting required next to AD.

The chances of Russ being content coming off the bench here for a 2nd consecutive season is slim to none.

I don't like that Spurs deal mostly because Poeltl is kind of redundant with AD coming back, and Josh Richardson is just another short 2 guard and McDermott is a nice shooter but he's a 8th/9th guy making money that dips into next year...plus the Spurs want multiple 1sts for any deal involving Poeltl...so no thanks to that.

Also - I do not want Russ back on this team unless he's willing to come back for the minimum and continue to be a 6th man. If we're able to round out the roster with better players and not have a $20M russ on the team, I'm all for it.

I do think we should try to do Bev/Walker/1st for Jerami Grant. The Blazers are at an interesting nexus right now where they are either gonna try to make the play-in and abide by Lillard's demands....or they're going to try and get what they can for Jerami Grant before he walks this summer for nothing (and they traded a 1st for him).

I would LOVE to trade Bev/Walker/Nunn/1st/2nds for Jerami Grant AND Rui Hachimura. I mean that is a serious come up for us on the wings without really giving up anybody substantial AND we're acquiring bird rights for 2 guys that we absolutely need moving forward (even for next year).

Lakers still need to ad one or two guards that are good three-point shooters. Rozier would be great.

not if we're giving up Lonnie, who is by far our best 3pt shooter at this point.

Jesus Christ man, tell me how you really feel. :D I’ve been a Russ fan since he was at UCLA, that’s the school I have rooted for since I was a little kid. I just haven’t enjoyed the Russ experience much on the Lakers. Mainly though I just see his contract as extremely valuable for us adding pieces we couldn’t add in free agency, so I’d rather see us do that if possible than bring him back. But yeah, f*** me for expressing my opinions on a message board for expressing opinions.

Jerami isn't up for grabs and certainly not for that. The Allen family are perfectly capable of paying the man. He's their #2 guy, big and sharp-shooting 3s. They just got him, clearly, the intent was to resign him. They can pay more than anyone else. And Portland gave up Gabriele Procida the No. 36 pick on 2022 draft a FRP, and 2 2nd rounders. We aren't in play for Grant.

I wouldn't put too much stock in Lonnie's shooting. That is an insult to Rozier, who has a body of work in terms of this elite shooting. Lonnie just happens to be having a good shooting year, and Rozier happens to be having a bad shooting year.

I dont know man, every time I hear the name Rozier, I still remember his horrible shooting with the C Bags in their playoff series. He has improved a ton since then, but we still dont know if he can be trusted in a Playoff environment.

Yea you see him as a contract I see him as how huge he has been for us almost seems like Russ is more of a leader then Bron when it has to do with taking care of the youngsters and them following your trend that chemistry for me they have developed is worth more then his contract too me he brings stuff that isn't on paper cool u like UCLA this is about the Lakers truly hope we don't trade him so all these Russ haters can keep it movin
