It better happen soon. This team will be out of the play- in picture if they don’t AND AD can’t return soon.

With Russ not being moved for much needed depth, pretty much everything would have had to have broken right.
I think if AD could have remained healthy, we could have wound up eighth or ninth.

James L Edwards covers the Pistons for The Athletic. Not going to bother with the entire piece, just the absurd ask for each of their players.

I honestly don’t think a first is too high of an ask for Bojan especially if a team is a contender.

If you're a playoff team and are offering up a 1st this year or even next (you should know your general outlook), that's a no brainer. For us, an unprotected so far out is riskier. And if I thought that's all it would take, I'd still do it. But i think he's going for more than that. There's going to be a bidding war, that drives cost and puts us on the outside looking in. There's reportedly 12 teams interested. Say half of them enter the race with their ask, unless we want to give up AR or Christie, we don't have the pieces to be a threat at the auction.

My general read based on the above report and what has been coming out of there is that Detroit wants to be blown away by offers for all of their guys, except for Noel and i think they try to package him with one of the others. They ain't all that and a bag of chips. I'm frustrated by these GMs not being realistic or interested in fair trade talks. Same with the report on DA above. He wants draft compensation for taking on Collins. Are you outside of your f***ing mind?! That's not a team who's ready to talk serious trades.

There’s definitely some bad faith negotiating going out there. I do feel like teams will “get real” here pretty soon but they may keep being unrealistic.

Just saying I don’t think the ask for Bojan is too high from their perspective.

Welp, my Chargers performed their annual season-ending humiliation so now I can give the Lakers my full attention. Just in time for Russ to throw away the last possession last night lol.

The Pistons just don't seem like a good trade partner for us, as others have said Bojan may be worth an unprotected first to other contending teams but isn't worth a 2027 or 2029 FRP from us. My ideal scenario is still a Russ for Rozier/Hayward/Plumlee and Bev for Kuzma combination of trades.

If they are asking for either AR or Max, it’s a no go for me. We aren’t getting Bogdonovic.

I’d trade one unprotected first with Bev and Nunn for Bogs. I would have done it weeks ago though. The longer they wait it out I think the less likely we are to do it. We shall see. Again, this was my gripe a few pages ago. We are on a tighter timeline than these sellers. They can afford to wait it out and every week we slip further down the standings. No way I include Max or another good prospect no matter what.

If no other team wanted him, maybe the Pistons would bite. We aren’t in that situation. Who knows, maybe nobody else offers up a good young prospect along with a first?

det's FO is definitely doing a good job gladhanding the press. reminds me of morey in the houston days.

and i agree with others: if you own your 2023 pick and are good, you definitely trade it for bojan, no question. but not if you're us.

maybe if we could dump salary at the same time, i'd consider it. but we don't have bad salary to dump. my prediction--det will get a future unprotected first but they'll have to eat a contract they don't love to get it. watch the clippers use one of their high priced bench players and a future first to get it done.

precisely why i don't act. it's out of desperation, and good decisions don't come from that. i imagine we've told all the sellers to please circle back to us when they've got an offer they like, and that we'll do the same (for example, if another deal involving bevs shows up that we like almost as much, we call det back just to make sure they haven't changed their mind).

and this is why this stuff drags out to the deadline.

i dont expect a big trade to happen, mgmt gona justify the losing n the cap space they want to free up this offseason, I too have settled that Russ will be here till end of season n few of the expiring as well who will of course walk for nothing this off season

We don’t know that they are asking for more than the unprotected first of course. My feeling from the posturing is that our first is the prize they are after. Again, if that’s the ask I’m willing to pay it for Bogs and the opportunity to turn Beverly and Nunn into a legit starting sniper on the team that fits perfectly alongside Lebron and AD and even Russ.

To me you make that deal yesterday, today, tomorrow. Do it and let’s start winning some of these close games with a guy who can be counted on at the end of the game to take and make a high percentage shot rather than Lebron pounding the ball and clanking a three or Russ turning the ball over.

Well, your argument at the end does hold a lot of weight with me. If it’s for our garbage players and one pick, I would do it.

Not a surprise at all. Dude was pretty difficult to guard when healthy and in his prime.
