Fixed. I'd rack up assists like no one's business.

Wow ... just wow. Need to get the new 2K in that case. I see some good veteran PG and SF coming here for cheap with that team.

Trading everyone but Kobe matches some of the mentality we've seen. We traded a ton for Nash. If not for Kobe's injury and a crap season that move would still be haunting us.

It seems that we want veterans who can put us back in the discussion right now.

Still.... how do you fill in a roster if you have Kobe, LMA and Oop? It's got to be a deal where they take less $$.

They'd all have to take another haircut to all play together I think.

This isn't a surprise too me. It's difficult to pull off, but Mitch is a big thinker. Remember, hopping on the plane heading to Cleveland to talk to Lebron and attempting to sign Carmelo during the same offseason.

Kevin wouldn't say no to a scenario where he's playing with DJ and Aldridge. Plus, depending on what the Lakers unload in contracts, the cap is spiking up at at an historic increase the following year.

Maybe we ding get both, but I love the thought process...

It was just a shell group... I assume we'd have to move some stuff to make room for those guys but...

    Russell/Clarkson
    Bryant/Ellington/J. Brown
    Randle/A. Brown
    Aldridge/Nance Jr.
    Jordan/Black/Upshaw

What if we sign and trade with Portland to dump a few of those salaries an include Randle? I think that might get it done. Not that I like it mind you. I'm not for giving a one way player like Jordan a max slot.

I don't see the Lakers trading away EVERYONE to make room for those two... That's too extreme. Especially with how they view Russell.

I could see them telling the two guys "if you take just ____ much less, you're together as Lakers" and then they'd proceed to try to unload Nick Young, Ryan Kelly, and Robert Sacre, waive their rights to Jabari Brown, etc.

The second scenario is just more plausible and easier to execute.

Might be pipe, but I think it's more something that the Lakers are bringing to the two of them as a potential selling point. The same as the Lakers saying "we'll trade the young guys if you want" this is "if you want to play with another stud FA and take a little less, we can accommodate you".

Nate...Nate...Nate... The offer is dangled to each of the prospective candidates NOT to both. At least that is what I think. Reading...it's fundamental.

...or by the grace of Naismith's ghost, both men agree to share the max for now then a bigger payday when the cap goes up and Kobeyashi is off the books or in for a Walmart Blue Light Special discount.
