Depth and factoring in the injury history of AD and Bryant.

Makes me more confident we're going to make a trade and it all but guarantees Jones is in it.

Maybe we're waiting for that Jan 15th batch to be available for trades.

Pacer's Haliburton out with left elbow sprain and a mild left knee bone contusion could be multiple weeks, will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Perfect time to bring Patrick Beverley and Kendrick Nunn aboard. Supposedly the Knicks and Clips are a threat for Turner but I doubt it. Knicks are overpaying Mitchell @ center and not likely to be able to dump him on anyone and the Clips are getting a double-double average out of Zubac. Not likey to throw down 25 million more for a center when they have a serviceable one for 10. I think I would rather resign Bryant for less than get Turner though.

Probably right, but is a 6 & 4 big worth being on the wrong side of the news cycle all for one week and 1/2 contract?

    Factor in the injuries too...pass.

Rather go with Boogie. He has ties to the team and chemistry with AD.

It is a bit silly I mean, the idea that you would even know someone is Jewish while playing COD with them is ridiculous.

I hate our FO so much lol. Huff is sitting right there waiting for a shot and we try out Cousins and Leonard. We’ve got LeBron James, soon to have back AD, and a wide open West and we’re screwing around with these washed up players. I’ve actually swung around on this season, I go all in, and I say screw the picks. I trade even an unprotected one for Bojan right now, that’s 20 ppg and over 40% from 3, and then I trade the other first separately for the best we can get for Russ. You go all in this year, this is the last shot at a title, no chance will be as good with anything post-LeBron, the FO has shown me that with the way they think, wanting players like Beal and LaVine. You can always recoup first round picks if it doesn’t work, Bojan is under contract next year, can be traded in the off-season, as can LeBron and AD, we would not be stuck, it’s a deflection.

Boogie is completely washed. He can't move at all out there and will be frequently targeted on D. No need to revisit him either.

My hunch is we are waiting until 15th and that makes sense at this point.

jsm beat me to why we're looking at centers. if jones is unplayable (or traded, as jsm hopes/thinks), we've got two guys with a long injury history and wenyen playing up a spot.

as for meyers leonard, i agree with helljumper that he seems like more d****** than racist. but really, the only reason an offhand comment during a video game ended his career was because his career was already pretty much over.

still not sure why huff doesn't get a real look.

i'm not sure robinson's really overpaid, and perhaps it would make sense to swap them, given that turner's a flight risk for indy and robinson's on a declining contract through 25-26.

everyone keeps thinking indy's selling turner for picks, but i'll be surprised if they do. they want talent. and talent under contract is worth a lot to indy, imo.

Yeah I watched the most recent South Bay game last night that Max played in, Jan 5th I think, and Huff looks like he could do damage off the bench at least against reserves at the NBA level.

He's elligible too for 10 day call ups, right? And you can do 3 of those with any one player? Maybe they just want to take a look first at Boogie to compare, and same thing with Leonard? Hoping anyway.

Street Clothes is probably complaining about the punishment he gets playing the 5, he probably stated that he wants to be a 4

The guy has 60 million left on his contract and he's a 7pts/9reb/1.7blk guy and played 31 games in 2021. He certainly doesn't not deserve more than he's getting.

he's played 34 so far this year and 72 last year, and numbers suggest he helps you win. he's honestly underpaid, i think. and again, he's on a declining contract.

i've got questions about whether ny would trade him for turner as much as vice versa, tbh.

    Those are all terrible ideas

No one is giving a 1st round pick for a 35y old Bojan. They haven't for a 34y old Bojan so that should tell you something

How many 1st round picks have we received the past 10 years, do you know?

I really don’t care if you agree with me. Also, Bojan is 33, he will be 34 in April, and remain 34 in the off-season. Nobody has given up a first for him YET, but times will get desperate and the Pistons bet on him and hold all the cards unfortunately. Sometimes you have to pay up for a shot at a ring. Again, if it doesn’t work out and the Lakers want to recoup their precious picks, they can blow it up and get many first round picks for LeBron and AD. We will not be stuck unless wait until all these players expire and get nothing for them, a competent FO wouldn’t be stuck.

You should care about other people's opinions. You would be wrong less often.

Bojan got traded just a couple months ago for NO FIRST picks. He's in the market for a few weeks and still no picks sent. Even yourself just said "when things get desperate". So yeah, it's a desperate and stupid move, which means is a terrible idea.
You aren't getting picks for LeBron. I don't know if you really believe those narratives you create on your mind or if you just type words.

It's fine if you want to go all in now because you believe we have a better shot now with a 38y old guy, a guy who can't stay healthy for 3y in a row or the worst contract of the league than from 2025 to 2030. At least own it. It's your opinion and you have every right to be wrong, we all are in different topics of our life. But to create those unfounded and flawed narratives on your mind that we are getting picks with LeBron just sounds like you don't even believe it's a good idea and are trying to justify to yourself.
Also, if we have to trade AD, those picks wouldn't be useful for a few years, because we will need picks to trade for a 2nd star to play with AD, not to blow it up and have no star wanting to play here

Why are we always rumored to be in the running for guys who are just about, or really are, out of the League??? SMH.

First of all, chill, it’s not that serious, it’s hypothetical basketball talk, good lord. Second, you tell me who you think we’re going to get in the next few years, via those picks, I’m traded for those picks, that gives us a better shot at title #18 than we have right now with LeBron James. If you say Luka I’m gonna laugh and ignore you. If you don’t like my opinions, that’s fine, but good lord calm down, no need to be such a hyperbolic over the top jerk about it, I never called anyone else heres ideas desperate, terrible, unfounded, stupid or flawed, especially all in one post. I’m just a guy on the internet tired of watching his team waste superstars, I have no sway within the org, none of what I said is going to happen, wow. If you don’t like me or my posts, ignore me, god damn.
