Scoop again from the neighbor's gardener (if you recall has inside FO connection and better than Mr. Rambis) .... take it for what you feel it's worth.

There's internal "conflict" between Reaves and Christy. Yep .... on top of everything else there's that going on.

Seems with the organization having lost its 1st round picks in 2021 and 2022 each of these guys is fighting to be the one to say:

Im sorry I can’t buy that. A rookie drafted in the 2nd round and beefing with last year’s undrafted rookie?

Have to also agree it sounds like bull. We've even seen the 2 of them chumming around at a Dodger game.

Also rookies don't have "beefs", rookies STFU especially with a guy who's an on-and-off starter for this team and Lebron's boy.

I’m not so sure about that. I think two picks gets OG done. Barnes probably costs a little more. And Siakam is probably 3 picks as an All Star.

Ujiri is a shrewd operator, I think he realises they’re treading water and need a proper star in the worst way. He could use our two picks and a few of theirs to go after that big fish. None of those SFs are pushing them into contender status let alone over the hump.

The problem is Ujiri might ask us for Reaves and/or Christie. Where do you draw the line?

i think his situation is like turner's, where a 20% increase is under what he'll fetch on the open market, and thus doesn't make sense to take. now if utah has space to burn

i've been on this since the summer. SA has to spend that money one way or the other. they aren't going to keep mcdermott or richardson as part of their rebuild. they won't get picks for either. so can they get picks to rent that space? they tried and failed over the summer and are playing the same game as us: hoping something changes.

that piece is pretty chilling, though. teams are STILL demanding a 1st for taking on russ's expiring? that's ridiculous, and i'd be looking at just keeping him then. i don't want cap space (pincus says nobody does, and i get that). that said, if we have it, our purchasing power will be stronger than everyone else's.

i say no to moving either unless they let us keep one of the firsts in that case. although i'm actually high enough on both to say that i think they're likely more valuable than future firsts in a vacuum. when you realize how many first rounders flame out and see that reaves is already a proven rotation player and christie looks headed that way...i start to value them similarly to unprotected picks for trade purposes.

That was concerning that no one is posturing for space this summer. The Two biggest things that concern me with that in regards to us...

    1)

    2) we pay to keep AR, Walker, Bryant, and DS. That eats up all our cap. In which case we didn't get better and aren't getting bargains. Maintaining isn't improving and this roster isn't nearly good enough to just maintain.

I’m of the same mind. An example of a first rounder flaming out is Cam Reddish. It’s hard to find rotation players in the first round when you’re out of the lottery let alone the second. So I’d be against trading Reaves who is a starting calibre rotation player and Christie who could be a good 3&D for the next 10 years.
