kyrie already had his bluff called regarding taking less money to play here. my guess is bkn offers him just enough so that our maximum 4 year offer doesn't beat the total value of their three year.

    a) hayward would come with useful players and b) he would remove russ from the squad. positives. also, any hayward deal wouldn't involve us throwing future picks away to get rid of russ.

Definitely, Dallas will want a first from us for Wood and our FO has been told not to use the FRPs at all. Rob's hands are tied, he's got 2nd rounders and Nunn, Beverley, Jones and that's it to work with.

    Howard Beck -
“And I’ve heard rumblings and they’re only rumblings, so I don’t want people to go too far with this or go crazy with the aggregation but a couple people around the league have told me in recent weeks that they believe that the front office has essentially been told not to trade the picks, that they’re guarding those,” Beck said.

Dunno..maybe Dallas just likes small guards more around Luka, like Brunson. Bev and Nunn would fit that bill...sorta

I guess it depends on what kind of cash Wood is looking for, he wanted 20 mil per in Houston. I think any big with some agility that can also hit an outside shot, would work well with AD honestly.

Kyrie signing for the mini MLE would have been the dumbest move of all time. Reports say that he was ours, but Rob balked on extending him right off the bat. Prudent move IMO, different scenario if he finishes the season healthy.

Meh.. the Russ hate is overplayed to death around here. I'd rather resign Westbrook than fool with Gordon Hayward, he won't be playing at all, in another month. That guy is damaged goods. We were never trading Westbrook and giving up picks, unless it was for a big-time player. Nobody fits that bill in Charlotte.

Well....Bridges and Rozier?...I could be tempted on 1 pick. Lebron and AD both get some help in that scenario. If the lady that signs the checks is OK with Miles Bridges, I'm ecstatic with it.

you're really a repetitive troll regarding Westbrook, when you know most of us would rather eat our own poop than resigning him.

Idgaf your opinion is yours. I don't think the people actually running the team agree with you either. Get over it...or not.

What do you think would be a fair number for a re-signed Westbrook?

i think dallas might have interest in bev, tbh. but probably for bullock, who's disappointed this year after coming up big in the latter half of last year.

word is wood wants to take a full extension (another sorta red flag, tbh) and dallas is only offering 2 years or something. think it would start closer to 17, which is close to his market value, imo.

it would probably take bev/bryant/1st to get wood from dallas, imo (and maybe that's not enough), and we'd probably have to agree to extend wood (i think this can happen after trades...need to brush up on the particulars).

i suppose we could also try something bigger and offer to take bertans's contract and wood for russ. i feel like cuban has had a funny love/hate thing with russ over the years, and the mavs hurt so bad for another initiator after letting brunson walk that they signed kemba.

i agree that hayward is damaged goods who plays half a season at half the value of his contract when he's available. but he's the tax for moving russ without giving up a pick and getting back rotation quality players.

bridges's trade situation has to be super weird due to his RFA status. and also that he committed a heinous violent crime a few months ago instead of just quietly collecting 9 figures.

I think the rumblings have been rumbling all season, so it’s likely more than that, those picks aren’t going anywhere. I also think LeBron is gone this summer, he’d be asking out now if he could according to this

oh, look, anthony irwin taking somebody's 4th hand speculation as possible fact and getting upset. it must be a day ending in y.

seriously, read the "actual quote". i'm sorry, this is ridiculous, man.

some guy not plugged into lebron or the organization thinks he might be pushing for a trade if he could and thinks he should finish his career in miami or cleveland because he thinks the lakers don't want him. good lord.

why not just cite my posts on this freaking message board and then attribute it to the organization and get mad?

Yeah that was quite ridiculous in every way. Especially considering the timing with the good news of AD’s recovery and hopefully soon return.

Um..what? Do you just see Irwin’s name or face and instantly go rage blind? He was simply quoting that article to clarify that LeBron can’t be traded because he’s been seeing it spread around as if he can be. I only posted it from Irwin because if I shared just the link alone it wouldn’t make sense, Irwin clarified here that he cannot be traded, it’s just interesting that these things will start to pop up. I do think LeBron would be asking out if he could right now, the FO is done trying to win with him. And it’s fine that they are, just don’t pretend otherwise, you know, pissing and faces and raining and such.

this is precisely the problem. you jump from your idea (the FO is done trying to win with lebron) to it being absolute fact (don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining).

i think you're pissing on your own leg.

and anthony irwin's legs are drenched and he's pissing on everyone else's all the time.

and i don't know if you're suggesting that irwin is trying to calm folks down about it, but he's clearly not. he's amplifying the third-hand speculation. it's garbage. why are you going for this these days?

edit: and yes, i go rage blind on irwin these days, and i'm never mad i did. not sure what that dude's deal is. other than he's obviously finding an audience by just inventing stuff to be mad about.

 I have no idea why you’re mad, or what you’re even saying. I don’t know how it can even be debated the FO is done trying to win with LeBron, they’re clearly concerned with the future with those picks and not using them to try to win right now. And that’s FINE, I’ve said that many times, just don’t pretend otherwise and come out and say all this bull**** about being the custodian of LeBron’s legacy blah blah blah, used car salesman snake oil peddler, shady MF’er. But I’ll also leave this here

It depends on what he's facing suspension wise, from the league, he can let his qualifying offer expire and be an UFA on March 1st I believe. Charlotte is going to do something here soon. Jordan might take a moral stance and just let him walk, I will believe it when I see it.

I'll guess we'll know a couple weeks after AD gets back.
