I can definitely see it playing out in either fashion. I've expressed my concerns about Kyrie and still prefer a trade but if he's playing like he is now then that's not a bad outcome to all of this.

I'd take Bridges, this is America, we love redemption stories, he would most definitely be on his best behavior moving forward.
Why we need to give up a pick for that trade idea? Hayward is shot and is owed 32 million dollars next season, Plumlee isn't any better than Bryant. So basically we give up any cap space we'd have this summer, and a FRP just to acquire Terry Rozier? Another 6'1 guard, owed over 90 million dollars? Nah...pass on that one.

Kyrie issues are not when he plays. It's when he doesn't

nope. i'm with elgin. and he couldn't keep it together when 100 million dollars was on the line. what makes you think he suddenly changed? i'd let someone else find out. you want to sign josh primo, too?

if hayward comes back, no picks are going that way, for sure.

i desperately want to give up cap space this summer.

THIS is the problem. Our FO is not doing this currently and it’s a bad way to team build- hoping on a star that some great player will demand a trade here some day. What I don’t get is that our FO is not collecting actual decent players under contract that the other team will take back in this future deal that they think will automatically catapult us back into Contention.
I feel like they have given up on this season and the next by their actions and it’s mostly due to the desire to not pay the repeater tax.

we've seen teams without cap space get sought-after FAs ahead of teams with space. i like using space as a threat in trade negotiations, as i'm sure we did with indy and turner (you know, we can just sign him outright next summer...), but if it's you plan A for roster improvement, you're in trouble. if only because if you look at the salary level of the contending teams, getting under the cap basically limits the total you can spend that year. so you're going to have a 140 million dollar roster when your competitors have a 180 million dollar roster.

just don't sign bad deals and you can roster churn, no problem. felt like we were starting to get this when we made the russ deal that just blew it up.

Maybe there’s a trade on the horizon. Or maybe Darvin got sick of looking at a 6’5 guard?

Maybe Whiteside to a 10-day. He can board, block, score inside, provide some size. Wasn't long ago Riley gave him 100 million.

Give Boogie a run, he played in this system in Milwaukee, he might be able to knock down a few jumpers before he fouls out.

He's been back and forth all season, he's playing well down there. Whatever happened to Cole Swider? Is he still hurt?

    Porter..meh..this guy avg 5 pts
Hayward is one of those bad deals. Unless we have an immediate plan to dump him on another team. Having the salary works in theory to upgrade the roster, but somebody has to take him.

irony: i was one of the only people not trying to riot when we signed walker and not porter (not that porter would have even taken our offer...), and now i'm ok with bringing him on.

nope. it's a one year deal. if it goes bad, he's trade bait next year like russ has been. hayward was a bad contract when he signed it, now he's just something we have to deal with for a year to be rid of russ.

a bad contract would be using all our space this summer to give draymond 4 years, for example. then you're stuck.

I like him but they'll demand a first, and I'm not sure he's worth a first, unless we plan on signing him long term

Wood is definitely talented but is he a great fit with AD? He's been at his best with the Mavs this year when he was the only big on the floor. At this point, maybe we care more about just accumulating talent.

would also be the 2nd team in six months to move on from him despite him putting up good numbers. mavs have been interested in collins in the past, wonder if they'll try to use wood to get him.

Lol. Man we aren't really interested in Draymond, but I still think we should strongly consider Kyrie.

Potter...meh..a last gasp if we can't move Nunn for anything else I suppose. Hayward won't be available by March..this year or next IMO. Any deal involving him is the worst deal on the table.
