I agree that best players always have this big ego.
Everything else is an hyperbole of course. But what I mean is that I think he's not a good leader. He also uses franchises to his pleasing and they are left with no assets or path when he leaves. His teams are filled with one year contracts so he can switch players at will every season. He's not good to coaches. The best players always have a say (as they should) in plays or roster moves but I think he took it to an unhealthy extreme.
He's definitely one of the bests ever and our recent success is heavily linked to him. But the way he discards players or coaches and meddles in every decision takes out some of the joy to follow his teams and for that reason only Lebron's followers usually root for him. I'm a fan of the Lakers and the team will continue to exist after him.

So what I mean is that he is great as a player and brings your team closer to success. But the way he behaves in everything that is not the game itself makes him less likable, hence the "lack of love" he gets from the franchise supporters

The way you don't put Kobe in that conversation when he basically as the whole Asia behind him apart from everything else, makes me guess that you never rooted for the Lakers before LeBron arrived.
    Your nickname also hints it.
For those reasons, I think your bias don't allow you to address the topic accurately

And because we had Kobe … basically MJ 2.0 with even tighter skills and ability to play through injuries “well” like no other ever in the game is a big reason why Bron didn’t get the open arms. Lifetime Laker … 20 years. You’d had to have been here with him and the Lakers to get it.

My daughter’s name is Gianna my man lol. I f***ing love and have always loved Kobe Bean. That’s my guy.

I was addressing who most consider to be 1 and 2 all-time, in no way disrespecting Kobe.

Kobe is criminally underrated IMO. He was much closer to Jordan than how people act.

@LA Bron disregard my comment above then toward you if doesn’t apply. Just facts of the matter re: LeBron. And no one ever did flopping compilations of Kobe.

Maybe because it’s stuff like yelling “I’m the GOAT” during the game?
Maybe it’s all the GMing he does and blamed the FO for the Westbrick trade?
Maybe it’s because he’s still seen as a mercenary type player?
Dude can still have big offensive nights and it’s impressive.
If he would have publicly admitted that he pushed Hard for the Westbrick trade, it would have smoothed over a lot of issues that some of us Laker Faithful have with him.

No doubt, Charlotte has pieces that can complement Lebron, AD, and even Russ very well.

it's mainly because his reputation/legacy was very much set in stone when he joined the lakers compared to past superstars like shaq and kareem who joined the lakers relatively early in their careers. he's basically seen as an outsider

i think the whole "kobe vs lebron" stuff from the late 00s and lebron's "decision" to form the superteam in miami play a role in it as well and more recently, the westbrook debacle

but like i said before, i'll forever be grateful to lebron for joining the lakers when no one else wanted to and on top of that, he led them to a title. aside from his tendency to take stupid long 3s when he's in coast mode and how he wanted russ, i have nothing bad to say about the guy

I get you now pika. Fair points. He’s certainly not a selfless leader by any means and I’ll agree with you there.

it would be a much tougher decision for me. what i had to work with at the time was hield was declining, coming of two pretty bad seasons from an impact standpoint. turner had been injured a lot and was a 30% three point shooter instead of a 40% (hard to fathom that he's improved that much in a year). so yeah, had i known these guys would play this way, i'd have probably done it. the flipside is they wouldn't have been available for that package had they played like this.

herb simon looking smart for wanting to see his roster before making a move.

This is such an unrealistic ask lol.

    1. Calling yourself the GOAT mid-game is a problem?! Lol who cares.

    2. All the GM’ing he does? So we forget he brought ANTHONY DAVIS and pretend he only wanted Westbrook?

    3. Mercenary type player. He’s played for 3 total teams in 20 years.

    4. Yeah, publicly admitting the Westbrook thing was entirely his idea is so realistic. MJ, Kobe, etc always just offered themselves up for blame when things went wrong.

    give me a break.

this should all be in the lebron thread, i think, but i agree with others that if he wants to put pressure on the FO to make moves, doing what he did last night does a lot more good than throwing up empty stats in home losses to the hornets and then making passive aggressive statements to the press.

I really don’t care if you don’t like these reasons. They are real and it doesn’t matter to me or anyone else if you don’t acknowledge them as reality.

    I don’t embrace leBron because he’s leBron.

if that needs explaining, then I find that fascinating. But not enough to take time to explain it.

My gut is telling me they are waiting for January 15 to try to get Beal and kuzma for Westbrook and Nunn.

Just a feeling but this is a trade that makes sense for both teams. If you want the Lakers to build around AD and have a 2 to 3 year window.
