LOL! There is no real “deadline.” It’s just hallow rhetoric to placate the average fan who still trusts this FO.

If Trae ever becomes a Laker…I’m out. He’s right there with Harden as guys I can’t stomach watching and hate how they’ve made a mockery of the game with their antics going for the whistle.

sounds like we're not willing to take on fournier, and i don't like that. i really don't like the idea of having cap space this summer. at least not very much of it. we should be using the idea of having cap space as leverage in some trade talks, but we should absolutely not be serious about having it.

he would, offensively. you'd need three more serious defenders to help offset him on that end, though. trae/AD and three competent wings would win a lot of games.

i'm not a fan of his whistle-hunting, but he's pretty fierce and fun to watch. and yeah, i don't like that he's had trouble getting along with folks.

even with the klutch angle, i don't think we have the goods to get him, anyway.

legit issues. he's not a super sharp player and doesn't always do the little things. loads of talent. i was just posting in the lonnie thread, and he's the sf version of lonnie, to me. he's got some stuff you can't teach.

Absolutely not worth it. Maybe some backwoods team will pay a FRP for him but he's an 8/1/1 guy who can't shoot the 3. Decent defender but gambles too much. Lakers definitely should not give up a FRP for him. It's Devean George reincarnated. Jim Dolan is smoking his Long Island Oyster Bay kush.

Is Rob seriously considering letting Westbrook’s 47 million expire for 30 million in cap space? This doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.

That 17 million difference would be enough to pay another starting caliber player, if acquired via trade.

It makes sense in Rob’s world because he sucks at his job.

Lol..To cause a mini meltdown around here. They may be seriously thinking about resigning Russ to a cheaper contract, and making some other trade to aquire a player they want. Unless a big fish they like becomes available.

On another note...I have a strong feeling that another big 3 is going to take home the O'brien trophy again this season. Further fueling this stacked team vs balanced roster debate.

You’re feelings have all ended in a blazing pit of fire. Maybe you should start listening to what results have shown and eye balls see.

Yeah and stvr posted the results going back about 30 years on the subject What results are you referring to?

Side note...the majority of Our championships came from a big 3. C-bags too. The two franchises with the most rings.

Of course Rob would renounce our rights to Russ. Russ is going to want to be paid with the kind of paper we are not willing to give him. His salary is far to high for us to take advantage of his bird rights and we won’t use cap space on him as we have so many roster holes to fill. Unless he blows it up the remainder of this year and if he expresses a willingness to want to continue to come off the bench (big if), maybe we will see if he will accept something reasonable but I expect that we will renounce our rights and let him walk. He won't take our offer.

As much as I like the idea of trading for LaVine or Ice Trae, I still think that a Charlotte deal may be our best option. I previously considered a trade for P.J. Washington as unlikely because of the Bridges situation. I figured Charlotte might want to keep him. It has since been mentioned that PJ may be available. I also viewed PJ as kind of a luxury, rather then a need, given that he plays mostly at power forward. Between the fact that power forward is Lebron's best position and PF being AD's prefrred position, I figured WAshngton wouldnt be ideal. He might make sense now though with AD being out. Also, Terry is a much better fit with Lebron than Trae. Trae is the better buidling bloc though, post Lebron and/or AD.

I think it’s a matter of time before that happens. With Phoenix Suns selling for $4 billion, I think the Lakers can go for at least $7 or $8 billion.

The Buss family doesn’t actually have billion dollar bank accounts themselves to pay for luxury taxes, etc. they depend on being profitable every year to be able to pay the bills.

After watching the Legacy docuseries, it appears both Jimmy and Johnny Buss would probably prefer to vote to sell and take a lump sum of money.

It might not necessarily be a bad thing, the Lakers deserve a big time billionaire owner willing to spend whatever it takes to win.

… See if Jeff Bezos is willing to throw a $10 billion offer together and stream all Laker games on Amazon prime

Washington is a great value on a 6 million dollar expiring contract.

37 million is an overpay for Myles, but I'd take the cash if offered.
