They still get AD. The top pick is just the cherry in the cake

Trading depth + draft picks for a star that doesn't fit (russ) and one of the worst contracts in NBA is not the ideal way to acquire talent.

yeah, i mean, if you're willing to gamble on lavine, you should be willing to gamble on AD, tbh.

Lonzo stays hurt and is another injury from being out the league. I don't want anything to do with him. Lavine is iffy on the injury front too.

It will never work if the 3 stars don't play together for most of any season. Frankly there isn't any evidence of any team winning a chip, with one of their superstars out period...1,2 or 3 stars.

And so the injury excuse starts again. Not saying you’re wrong, just gets old.

It is what it is...OK... give me an example of a team winning a chip without one of it's star players being able to play then Cookie. Truth can be an inconvenient thing...you know like it being called an excuse.

That's my main issue with 3 stars. IF one gets injured and in this era of basketball where nobody plays all 82, you simply cannot stay competitive with minimum guys playing important minutes.

Golden State just won a chip with their 2nd best player playing at not even half his usual level, and Draymond benched for large parts of the final.

I said you weren’t wrong or did you miss that part? I’m not saying teams win a chip but teams do have a next man up mentality that we as members or our players don’t seem to have. Everything can’t be excused by injuries, it still matters how you play and respect the game.

I think they would probably take that. OG is having a down year.

He is scoring efficiently and defending at DPOY levels. Only his 3 pt shot is down.

Gary Trent Jr is having the down year, but he isn’t as interesting to me.

OG saves our season in my opinion. We become a decent wing team with one addition.

    Schroeder (6’1) / Russ (6’3)
    Walker (6’4) / Reaves (6’5)
    OG (6’7) / Brown (6’6)
    Lebron (6’9) / Gabriel (6’9)
    Bryant (6’10)

You can't stay competitive if one of your two stars are out either...we already know this from the year following the chip. That team didn't have all these minimum contract players and they still sucked with Lebron and AD only playing in 27 games together. It's the stars not the role players.

We are done without AD period, Lebron can't carry that group deep into the playoffs either. IF AD makes it back, and can finish the season, this improves our team though.

If the next man up isn't of a similar caliber, he's not going to be able to compensate for a superstar being injured. These guys are playing hard IMO, I don't think they did last season tho, but they played hard in the year after winning a chip too. It's the NBA...this is a tough league, superstars are superstars for a reason, ditto for the role players. If you are lacking the big guns, effort only takes you so far. I get the argument about having 3 stars and the roster being a problem if 1 goes down, however it's the exact same issue with 2 stars.

Negative.. Klay Thompson lead Golden State in minutes played in the playoffs, playing in every single game 36 min per. He was the 2nd leading scorer on the team at 19pts pe game and shot 38% from deep. Draymond Green was 4th on the team in playoff minutes played at 32 min per. Funny you bring up Golden State, they actually had a 4 star model, Wiggins makes 31.6 mil per. That team is the last example that you want to use.

I’m still in the I’m not trading AD period camp. When healthy he is the best two way big in the NBA and I’m not giving him up. In the meantime let’s frigging get someone decent for our two duds Bev and Nunn. Hoping that can give us some help until AD gets back and beyond.

    Depends on the injury.

If it is season ending, we might have to consider it.

Big man and foot surgeries, yikes. Thanks for the Championship i guess, we're done winning for some time. Maybe this will make Jeanie sell the team and we'll move forward with a better "vision", front office and a ball club in general.
