A max deal for Harris starts at 16.75 million or so and totals about 72 million. We'd have still roughly 7 million dollars to spend. I'm not sure who you could pull with 7 million, but maybe you hand that to Ed Davis? Maybe you hand it to someone a bit taller, a vet like Asik if he's willing to take it? I probably go Davis honestly because he wants to be here and we know he'll work his butt off every night.

    Russell/Clarkson
    Bryant/Ellington/J. Brown
    Harris/Young/A. Brown
    Randle/Kelly/Nance Jr.
    Davis/Black/Sacre

The average age of that team is under 25 I think. Super young, but talented across the board for that starting lineup. Then Kobe retires, you slide Clarkson in there. Maybe you go after a more proven Center next summer like Noah or Hibbert or something? I don't know.

I would probably go Ed there, his athleticism and effort would fit us perfectly.

So that means all teams (including Clips) are on level playing field, yes?

At this point I'm not even sure if our front office is interested in any of the sfs. I think they will be trying to snag Aldridge or DeAndre. I think the FO's dream scenario right now is Butler signs the QO, we sign Aldridge this offseason and then next offseason we sign Durant or Butler. Kobe resigns for a small contract to play the Paul Pierce roll. I think the below is the Lakers absolute dream scenario with Durant being swapped out for Butler as a close second. That team could compete it's first year together with Butler or Durant.

    LMA/Upshaw
    Randle/Black
    Durant/Swaggy
    Kobe/Clarkson
    Russell/Clarkson

I think that's been the case all along with Jordan. It's about fit for him, not necessarily money.

However, the Clippers have his Bird Rights so I believe they could still offer more cash in that situation. With his full Bird Rights he gets 7.5% pay increases every summer. Only 4.5% elsewhere.

Hey Mr. DeAndre Jordan who wants to be an All-Star: Kobe Bryant sold 6th while hardly playing all season on literally his last legs... What do you think you'd do in a Laker jersey?

Also team merchandise sales were still higher than the Clippers despite winning less than half the amount of games you guys did with D-League talent. We outsold your boys CP3 and Griffin STILL... What do you think the brand is worth?

Strike out on the big names then move on quickly, IMO. Grab a center, another swingman, and I'm good with this approach. We'll be scraping the 8-10th seed, but it's progress...

Has any pro sports player ever had more control of their situations, teams they want to play for, moves they want made, than LeBron. I get that he opted out for a tiny bit more money and so he can resign for big money next year or something, but last night ESPN wouldn't stop talking about how it's also so he can sit back and make Cleveland sweat and make the moves he wants. Getting Thompson paid, and other stuff like that. The guy gets to constantly dictate everything about his career, it's pretty crazy.

He didn't get that in Miami, but some sources said part of him liked the idea of that kind of power in Cleveland which is part of why he returned.

I've also heard he'll only sign a one year deal so he can basically do the same thing next summer as well.

I don't know, I could swear they brought in some players to the Heat that LeBron really liked, Riley certainly seemed out to make LeBron happy. And the one year deal thing I heard too, they said with the projected cap in 2017 he can make $40 mil a year, crazy.

That doesn't sound right... His number should start at 31 million or so? Either way it's a huge payday. The new cap is going to help bring NBA players up into their actual value instead of playing for less than what they're worth.

Re: LeBron in Miami- he had some influence (what was that PG's name he wanted?) but it's nothing like the sheer power he holds over Cleveland. Who can blame him though? Power is awesome.
