Yeah, but I don't know why you would be cynical on helping AD NOW. You don't necessarily have him later if you don't give him a roster that's useful in his prime. We still might land a big free agent later on. None of the guys we are talking about getting are under contract more than a couple years at most, some not even that. I don't want to waste an opportunity. I think it's bad management. Do something Rob! No more sitting on your hands. Get it done in the next two weeks. I'm not talking about Russ - you can wait and see on him, but Nunn and Beverly need to go now. You've said the same thing. Not sure why you are arguing with me.

All we need is competitive depth from someone 6’6 and taller. It’s a glaring weakness. Get rid of PatBev and Nunn, then make a big move with Russ at the trade deadline if necessary.

The comments here are gold, Wiz fans want Beal’s overpaid behind gone, some will even throw in Porzingis. Should tell us all we need to know

I’m overall on the side that trading Russ+2 FRP for Beal, or 1 FRP for Kuz would probably be bad deals. But not by THAT much. They’re both trades I’d at least consider, especially if you can get some protection on the pick.

But that’s got me thinking, what about these scenarios:

Westbrook, Beverley, and 2 FRP for Beal and Kuzma

    OR

Westbrook and 1 FRP for Kuzma and Porzingis

I don’t think Washington would go for either, but I’m curious if that changes the math for Laker fans? I’d probably pull the trigger on either of those deals. They might not fill our biggest needs, but I think give a significant enough talent increase to be worth it

Yeah what's up with Beal? Missed 41% of the games this season and is down for a few more months. That + not playing many games the last 3 years. Are we entertaining this? He makes 57 million in 2027 on his deal LOL. Good lord we would be so much better off going the depth route than all the beans for an oft-injured one-sided shooter. And people want to offer OUR picks for him? LOL. BIG PASS. He's not your championship piece.

Beal has the worst contract in the NBA. Would not touch that with a 10 feet pole. Plus he's always injured and not that great either. PASS

Wow that’s some NBA 2k level trade right there lol.

Smoking the pipe here, I am intrigued (injury risks and all) about a Lebron/AD/Beal/Porzingis/Schroder starting lineup lol.

I'd be intrigued if we could magically get Zinger for free, sure. :)

for 7 years? not sure this allays my concerns.

the question is: are you paying for a 13/7 guy who blocks some shots and shoots 33% from three or are you paying for a 17/8 guy who blocks some shots and shoots 43% from three. my money says the former. anyway, for two 1sts plus the risk of him walking in FA, i'm still out.

The big jump is his shooting % for which it's hard to really pin a contract year on, he does have has a net increase of 5 pts scoring over the last few years but is doing that with less than 2 attempts more taken. Actually is taking less 3s for some reason, especially since dude is hitting 43%. Imagine that here, he'd have every team's big way out on the perimeter letting AD work inside on smalls. AD would probably be doubled, I mean LBJ and Russ would have the rim to themselves.

what i'm saying is that going from meh to outstanding as an outside shooter in the span of one season is highly unlikely and will likely precede a regression to a well-established mean. sorta like AD.
