I love the idea of Bogdanovic, but that's a high ask for him. Since that's the asking price I'd probably pursue Reddish/Fournier for a second instead. But there's no doubt to me that Bojan would be an incredible fit here. The one thing we are desperately missing is three point shooting and he'd be fantastic in that role. I like that he's a three as well which allows Lebron to continue at the 4 and AD at 5, plus Lonnie Walker at 2. But at 34 it's hard to swallow giving up an unprotected first. I'd go as far as a protected first, but probably not unprotected. For the record, I would have done that deal in the summer with Utah for him and Conley and Gay plus a pick back for Russ and the two.

Unprotected first for Bogdanovic LOL. Pistons got him for NOTHING. No way, I’d rather punt the season than do deals like that, dude is good but he’s almost 34.

prefer fournier and reddish with no outgoing picks. buy low instead of at absolute apex.

if we trade an unprotected first for bogdanovic because he scored 38 on us, i quit.

but utah turned that one down, iirc. i would have totally gone for that, too. i pitched several versions of that deal that didn't involve us giving up picks (many fans did not like the idea, btw, check the receipts). but utah wanted the pick(s).

I remain glad we didn’t give up 2 unprotected first round picks for Bogdanovic, Conley and Gay. The first round pick coming back to us in that deal would likely be one in the 25-30 range as well, so not comparable to our likely lottery picks. Conley is 35 and always hurt, and Gay is 36 and done. TWO unprotected lottery picks for that? After 3 picks got the Cavs Mitchell? No way. Screw Utah.

yep. again, all my ideas with them were no picks because we were eating conley and gay.

and again, they took olynyk and no picks for bogdanovic after that. they can eat a big one.

i hope we find a way to visit some pain upon them in the coming years.

Such an old package though, it's must-win this year because you ain't got another shot with Conley, Gay and Bojan. Conley/Gay are north of 35 and Bojan will be too on this contract, with Lebron you got the Laker convalescent show again. Reddish/Fournier and see about Turner/Hield from Indy then we're deep and not crazy old.

Bojan is an amazing fit, but I'd offer a 2nd, or a protected first. If we're serious about this, I think they would be willing to trade with us.

Otherwise, I'd take the NY deal and I'd be thrilled bout it.

The main piece was Bogdanovic obviously. He’s shooting about 40% on threes, something we DESPERATELY need. And he’s shooting well all around, plus he plays SF so you could plug and play and add a 20 point a game volume outside shooter who can catch and shoot as well as create a bit of his own. He’s a veteran but he’s far from washed like Pat Bev. Or did you all miss him putting 25 points on us in the third. And he’s only partially guaranteed next year on a pretty decent contract for what you get. Conley gets hurt but again he’s a starting caliber (more importantly closing caliber!) high IQ, great defender and shooter. And he’s only got one more year on his contract. Agreed Gay is pretty cooked but I like his size and if healthy he could some things in the playoffs. Whatever the opportunity is passed but I still think it was a decent trade for Russ and picks. Helps now.

Last I checked we are 11-15 looking on the outside of the playin. We need to do something or we won’t get there IMO. Could just be moving Nunn and Bev maybe Jones and saving a Russ move for later. But the time is now to get off the fence and try to salvage the season before it’s too late. I just really like Bojan’s fit for us.

    Do the SRPs (+ PatBev/Nunn) for Fourier/Reddish
Do the FRPs, get the '29 with some protection on it (+ Westbrook) for Turner/ Hield

That is practically bringing in an entire squad (minus PG) and a good one at that. Throw in Schroeder and that's a fine squad. We get bigger on the wings, inside and hugely improved from 3 while retaining an AD who is beasting and a Lebron who is still looking good. We ain't gonna care about the loss of Westbrook on the bench with guys like Walker, Fourier or Hield, Schroeder, Bryant, Brown to plug in there.

That would be an incredible reset and I’d give us a huge chance to at the least get out of the West and to the Finals. All bets are off for the championship but that would give us our best chance and a nice roster for next season too. Keep Reaves, Walker and Bryant and there you go.

I'd probably go for that! BTW, it's BogdAnovic, not BogdOnovic. But yeah, this is solid.

That’s not a roster tweak but an overhaul so if we do that, we do that now so the team has a time to jell before the playoffs

Thank man, it sucks trading the picks at least Rozier and Bogdanovic have reasonable, cost controlled contracts, and check other boxes as well.

I like the fit a ton, I liked it back then too, but 2 lottery picks is a ridiculous, not in good faith offer by Utah. The proof of that is that he went for no picks at all. You just don’t trade picks that are almost guaranteed to be that high for a good player and 2 old guys at the end of their career, you just don’t, even if it makes you better right now. If that move didn’t make us a contender we are STUCK. You aren’t flipping Conley or Gay for picks, they are at the end of their NBA value. I wasn’t high even on Hield and Turner for both picks either, but at least with them Hield is around 30 and Turner is 26, they can be moved again to recoup assets. It’s ok if we agree to disagree here, I think we dodged a bullet with that trade, we’d maybe be a few wins better IMO. Utah tried to GOUGE us, and they didn’t get their way, and now Russ has shown he’s still a productive enough NBA player, screw Danny Ainge. I’m fine with trading our picks, just as long as in some cases they are protected, or if not we are getting some damn good players, younger players that can be here for a while and used to build some continuity. There’s no continuity with Conley and Gay, it’s a must win now move, and I don’t think we’re good enough with it to make any real noise. I’ll end with an example of why I think you don’t make a deal like that, Steve Nash. Not wise to trade multiple firsts for guys near the end.
