I am almost positive we'll do some trades soon. There are way too many rumors that make sense to simply ignore at this point.

Yeah I don’t want to do that Chicago trade anymore anyway. Those guys are just older versions of Buddy and Turner as mentioned here, and DeRozan probably immediately declines once he gets here, that’s our luck. 2 picks is too much unless it’s players we can use here long term and are young enough to flip again to recoup picks.

I’m kind of here too. I’m thinking possibly we make this first move for a shooter/wing or both. Maybe roll the dice with Russ for the remainder of this year unless there is a great deal out there. Then sign a guy like Turner as a FA. That way we keep our first round picks or at least one of them, get a shooter and center for next year.

My a** he wouldn't be interested in getting out of that overpaid contract from Lavine.

Not seeing any Russ trade involving both FRPs as being worth it, I agree that the Chicago deal poses enough risks in terms of fit that it’s not worth both picks.

My gut tells me that we’d get a better haul sending 1 FRP with Bev/Nunn, and then the other FRP with Russ.

Specifically in that order. Getting some immediate help takes away our desperation, and then once we’ve already sent out one of our picks, other teams don’t really have the option to try to rip us off for two picks on a Russ trade anymore. They’ll get desperate for the expiring contract and forced to come to the table with some realistic offers.

I feel like he's already declining.

I hope that is not accurate. I really, really do. It probably is just a smoke screen tbh. EP's got our back.

I completely agree. I have been bringing up Rozier in most of my trade scenarios. Is anybody here familiar with P.J. Washington? Can he defend small forwards? I kind of dont want to get him because Lebron would have to slide over the the three. We have been doing great ever since AD went to the 5 and Bron to the 4. I dont want to mess with that. There are obvious reasons why it is working. Besides, PJ might require more quality/quantity going out. Westbrrok/Jones for Rozier/Oubre/Plumlee would be great.

    Trade #1: Westbroook/Jones/2027 1st to Charlotte for Rozier/Oubre/Plumlee

Trade #2: Beverly/Nunn/JTA to New York for Fournier/Reddish

Lakers have three-legit players to surround the big two with in Rozier/Walker/Fournier.

The bench looks interesting too with Shroeder/Reaves/Reddish/Oubre/Gabrial/Brown/Plumlee.

i think washington can defend sfs. he's a 3/4 like stan. i just think he's one of the last guys charlotte wants to move.

and i actually don't think the team needs both trades above. one may do as much as we can expect in terms of in-season upgrades given our assets. i'd prefer not to part with any future firsts in either deal.

Hold on to those picks. Luka will be available in 2/3 years I suspect.
Dallas is underachieving again and they just can't provide the right personnel and coaching around Luka.
We need every possible asset in line when he gets tired of it

yep. you can't count on it, but you can't take yourself out of the running to try and finish higher up in the play-in.

if anything, we should consider taking on salary to get more future picks. if we take hayward can we get a first?

bullock and mcgee have been pretty bad for dallas this year, and they're so desperate for another ballhandler, they just signed kemba.

    bevs/nunn/jones for bullock/mcgee/2 2nds?

    Absolutely.
We are the Lakers, it's championship or bust. Whatever trades we do, we give ourselves at most a punchers chance. I prefer to build the building blocks for a title run 3/4 years from now

We already have availability concerns with our 2 stars. But even if we strike lucky and they are both healthy, I don't think it's enough for a title run, even with Hield and Turner.

Get picks and tradable players that we can use to remain relevant, so that after LeBron a superstar thinks "I can go there and start a dinasty".
When LeBron expires we can have 4 picks to trade, we just need to wait until then and I believe we will have some stars wanting to come here
