    Bulls aren't going anywhere, IMO.

Ball is nowhere near returning per reports.

Idk what they do, but they make sense as a trade partner from a biased Lakers fan POV.

Or maybe they can squeeze assets out of us and use those to retool next summer?

Just throwing stuff at the wall, lol

Yeah. I always felt like we could get a fair deal done with Mitch and still do. Several guys I would be interested in and we i shouldn’t have to take Hayward now.

I’ve also been open to Gordon at the right price. He could immediately help us.

I’d be happy to nab Derozan, Vuc or Caruso if they do have a fire sale.

They had a nice moment last year but just can’t get past the injury bug.

The problem is..these other teams ahead of us are doing the same thing, they just started out of the gate better than we did.

Is Eric Gordon a better player today than Reaves or Walker? I mean where is he supposed to play? At whose expense?

This FO may make a trade, but I don’t think it’s going to be big enough to turn us into a contender.
Now, Rob can prove me wrong if he makes two separate deals that net us a real defensive wing and a dependable shooter. I have the flowers already picked out in my garden for him if he does.
Until then, this team is still lacking to compete in a series against the top four in the West.

I’m fine with just making moves that turn us into a playoff team. Just give us a balanced, competent roster, get us to the playoffs, and see what happens. You get LeBron and AD to the playoffs you have an outside chance, even if it’s a slim one. Injuries happen, weird things happen, you never know. But you have to be in it to have a chance, we don’t have to be bad or championship contender, there’s a middle ground, start to build some continuity now so we don’t have to start from scratch AGAIN next offseason. Get back some mid-level pieces like we gave away with KCP, Kuz, and Caruso. I like abeers suggestion of Rozier, Oubre and Plumlee most, for example, replaces the PG spot we lose with Russ going out, gives us a wing that can score pretty well, and a competent starting level big.

What would be nice to see is Rob get us some playoff vets and if we are talking a playoff vet, who can play, at a position we desire and do the things we want, it Is Myles Turner all the way. At only 26 he has been to the playoffs 4 times, yeah all were first round and out but that grinds on you. There is a big difference between a 26-year-old NBA player who has tasted the playoffs 4x than one that has never at all (say hello Buddy Hield, 30 years old in 1 week). Getting a taste but never breaking out and advancing because you simply are not teamed up with the right guys puts a little hunger in your belly and a want to do more than just collect a paycheck. Why do you think he has been reaching out through media to the Lakers..duh? Waiting for him for go to FA and try to clear the room to sign him is risky rather than grabbing his bird rights now. If Rob blows this, I don't now, I mean I'm gonna have to start thinking about assassination or something. Not by me, just sayin'.

And Myles is great but we will still lack at wing. If it has to be Buddy Hield then that's better than nothing, for sure. It's slim pickings right now.

    Best case scenario:
Rob facilitates a deal with Indy for Turner/Hield using 1 FRP, a SRP and Westbrook.
Next he goes after an excellent wing with Nunn, Beverely, Jones and a FRP.

If that doesn't work then f*** it, I can watch football for 5 years.

Honestly this sounds like a pipe dream. 3 rotation players for Russ and a second? I know we hypothesis they will tank, but I still don’t see it.

beverley and nunn play a combined 40mpg right now. eric gordon can play 25 of those, and the others get split amongst other more qualified players. feeling like maybe you're not getting how bad nunn and bevs have been this year. worse than russ was last year.

the thing the pacers turned down before turner had a career year and they were firmly in the playoffs? we should fire (sorry, murder?) him for not getting that done?

and we had dwight's bird rights in somewhat similar situation...

why? they keep their pick if it's in the lotto. they are 6-15 and very much in striking distance for a top pick. hayward's out again, and there's just limited upside there in general. making the playoffs would actually be a bad thing for them this year. so yeah, i think they're wide open to the tank.

i highly doubt they view plumlee (especially) or oubre as foundational pieces. and rozier isn't even really playing that well for them, nor is he helping them win any more games right now. if they do view oubre as foundational, we can either offer a protected 1st or swap washington for oubre (would require adding another minimum level player from their end to make salaries work) or some such maneuvering.

i don't know. to me, oubre is a flight risk for them. rozier isn't worth his salary to them. and plumlee is almost certainly not going to return. wouldn't they rather just have wide open books next summer, which is the next to last before lamelo's contract extension will kick in and make them an over the cap team? do they think that rozier/lamelo/oubre making a combined 85 million is part of a recipe for long-term success after that?

i don't know; it doesn't seem that far-fetched to me.

I'm too lazy to look up his shooting right now, but I believe he's a better career shooter than both. But Lonnie and Reaves are shooting well as of late so the averages may have actually evened out for this season.

I'm thinking more of replacing Nunn and Beverly though. They just aren't giving us much of anything. Especially Nunn.

My preference is to add a wing and a big but I would kick the tires on Gordon.

I don't think a move that makes us a title favorite is possible but I do think the front office can improve the team for the long term. Basically build a competent roster that finishes strong this year and is in a position to be further tweaked in the offseason using minimums, etc.

May be unpopular and a long shot, but I’d trade PatBev/KN/1st for Kuzma and a filler. Kuz is exactly the archetype player that we need.
