Buddy Hield can't guard a parked car, we already know this, we've seen enough of him from Sacramento. He and Lebron in the backcourt would be defensively challenged to say the least.

yeah, still carefully phrased. they strongly imply the pacers would have taken two unprotected 1sts but never outright say it. they say it was a demand.

ok, i choose to discuss it three weeks ago when turner was hurt again and not in the midst of the best stretch of his career. but i didn't crow about it because i know it's a long season. and it still is.

or one of those three gets hurt, we miss the play in, turner pulls a dwight, and we're terrible and out all of our future picks.

iow, peddling bev/nunn for now. saving russ in case a big deal comes free.

does worry me that it seems jeanie wants to use this chance first and foremost to get under the tax.

I will be convinced this team is for real if they can win the majority of the games during this next stretch of mostly roadies. Beating the Spurs three times is one thing. Beating the good ones is something completely different.
We still need help in the shooting department, but this will only happen via a Russ trade. If he’s staying, a trade involving BevMo or Nunn won’t help us much because of their value.

can't remember who's been pitching the other bogdanovic, but he and eric gordon are right in that salary range and probably will be available at some point for expirings and 2nds.

Naw: common surname in the former Slav countries. Bogdan is a Serb; Bojan is a Croatian. If you look at them, they'd only be bruthas from anothuh mothuh.

Expect more Bogdanoviches in the NBA over the next decade or so. They are hoop-mad in that area of the world. One of their guys, a Slovenian, fellah name of Doncic? Not bad.

Oh, and how is that Serb Nikola Jokic doing in the world's elite league?

No way. Way? Heads to see who they are playing. :D

Edit .... jeezus he did that against scrub Myles Turner with only 5 rebounds and 9 points.

Clips beat them 114 - 100 without both Snake and PG.

What makes you guys think Turner won’t want the max? Or 30m? Why would he take an extension at 20-24m now?

All correct. Bog means God in South Slavic languages. Therefore, Bogdanovic would be the equivalent of... let's say Goddard. It's a relatively common last name over there. Most of those last names actually come from the first name of one of their (grand)fathers. At some point, a male member of the family was named Bogdan (literally "God-given"), and then the kids became "Bogdanovics" ("Sons/Daughters of Bogdan"). Hope this makes sense.

Some of these guys have a decent sense of humor, too, as many of you may have noticed. They're really good teammates in general.

I remember a game when the other team had a tech called on 'em, and even though Kobe was on the floor, Sasha Vujecic shot the tech. After the win, Sasha was interviewed. One question: why did you get to take the tech FT when Kobe was on the court?

Sasha: It means that I'm a better player than Kobe Bryant. (He could barely keep from laffing.)

Because nobody in their right mind is going to offer him a max contract. His career numbers don't deserve such an offer and then there is his injury history. Let's keep it real, Myles Turner is not an AD caliber player.

No he isn’t, but he will for sure test the market and look for the most he can get. He won’t sign an extension. So my question is, what if we trade for him and he leaves?

yeah, i've said all along his contractual status hurts his value in trade. on one hand, you say trade for him so you have his bird rights and can basically match any offer--but that's only if you're comfortable paying big money for that player. are we?

we just got done watching the mavs pay 2 1sts for porzingis, only to have to dump him for bad contracts a couple years into a huge contract extension. very similar situation with turner, imo.

it will take a long time to know whether passing on a deal for him at that price was a mistake, but nothing i've seen right now is making me feel like we screwed up royally or something.
