It’s hilarious to me that people spend all day long bashing Pelinka. He’s the GM, he’s not your arch nemesis, it’s ok to say he’s won a ring and then the team got hurt the last 2 seasons, and that he’s not perfect around the margins. He was hired due to his relationship with a franchise icon and the fact that other agents have been successful in the gm role, and I think that’s shown to be the case over time. Also, he did not have the sole power to not trade for russ, but now we hope he has the power to make his own decisions. Also if Rambis had the power to get DJ in the starting lineup last season he had the power to veto that trade too, as does Jeanie as she’s said she has final say over everything. So none of them are off the hook “because Klutch”. Good front offices don’t let their players be that influential in personnel moves other than say like recruiting minimum signings and such.

i didn't have to adjust the last part because a) it's accurate, and b) it undermines the rest of your point.

yeah, that got real quiet and affected nobody's opinion. when you know you're right, evidence doesn't matter.

obviously on the last part. i think it's possible indy could see a chance to flip covington for another pick (probably a couple 2nds) to a separate contender (or us, lol). taking on a little salary isn't the end of the world for them because their space isn't very valuable.

I was hoping that we signed TJ Warren for the mMLE to play as a big SG and wing cover. Or potentially Joe Ingles or the 2/3 other wing options.

But Lonnie Walker has been nice. It’s a shame he isn’t a little bigger but beggars can’t be choosers.

He and Troy Brown have both been pretty solid signings. I’ll give Rob his props for that. Walker has replaced Monk’s scoring punch, youth and athleticism nicely. Brown isn’t really starting caliber (neither one is on a contender) but they are nice role players.

This long break came at a good time for us. Guys can come in well rested and healed up for a winnable stretch of game.

if we can get some wins here and climb a bit out of the hole we’re in we can set things up so a trade can still benefit us this season.

Yeah man, its great that his shooting is starting to come around too. I still dont see him as a core peace though. Maybe more of a 6th man type on a good team. Sometimes this squad kind of reminds me of those Nick Young teams.

he still playing the 3rd star strategy imo thus the continuing of giving out only 1 yr deal (minus nunn)....that doesnt work n sith more than half the team being new faces every off season, this is the results, sure walker/brown have been solid the record doesn't reflect a solid off season

    So this happened today...

Here's the main quote that's getting aggregated

Hey KD, did you honk before backing over your teammates? That said, Russ + 1 first. Do it Rob.

Dude is such a creep though, I just don't want him. This guy used to be my favorite player circa OKC until he started talking and doing things like his burner accounts on twitter. That said, Lebron and Jeanie just might be the right recipe for him but I don't care I completely dislike the guy. I've never had this much dislike for someone with that much talent.

And that comment about his teammates above...lol "it's not disrespect" Brother, that ain't nothing BUT disrespect, as pure as it comes. 100% Grade A, organic, grass-fed disrespect.

nets need to just blow it up

KD+kyrie (when he plays) aren't nearly enough to get them to the top of the east. and with simmons forgetting how to play, the surrounding cast is awful

Oh, I agree (for the most part, although I hate Bev more than anyone in the NBA). I've said this before, I am really curious 10-15 years from now how the world remembers KD. On the court, there's been maybe a couple guys in the history of the league who can do what he does offensively. But after teaming up with GS, then trying to form a super team in Brooklyn, to his engagement with fans, to his prickly-hostile relationship with the media... there aren't many who are going to wax poetically about him when he's retired.

If KD wants bigger names than Sumner, we can provide that in an on brand chips all in, win now move. They'd have to want to blow it up and realize no one wants Kyrie's toxicity. Tsai would have to be ready to wash his hands of the both of them regardless of the return and just reset in the off-season.

Doesn't solve our needs but if we're going big game hunting, I prefer one or two swings at it with KD over the Beal plan.

I mean as far as pipe dreams go? We need a shooter and KD is about the best there is. Next to AD and Lebron? Yeah get that trophy ready. That’s a serious big three.

Does anyone think we should kick the tires on Jabari Parker?

The thing that just sealed it for me with KD first was going to GSW which was a team that didn't even need him to win titles, it was just overboard and a total coward move and second, leaving GSW immediately after 2 titles for what amounts to nothing more than a massive, huge, ego trip on his part. When you read him talk about it it's like you don't even have to read in-between the lines, the dude is a narcissistic megalomanic concerned only with himself and his image to the point where he has damaged his image because he can't be real, he has a god-complex and he talks like it. Too concerned with how media perceives him, whatever good human was in Kev to start with, he burned right out of himself. Like a rock star that freaks out on drugs and changes, KD freaked out on his own ego. Completely unlikeable being.
