People should accept that Kyrie is the most gettable elite player right now, it’s stupid to disregard it with Bron now wanting it.

You gotta be joking me. Buddy Heild and Myles Turner is a better option than Beal on the supermax. I mean come on, this dude is good, but he’s not great, and he’s making 46, 50, 53, and 57 million dollars starting next season through 2027. Give me a break, Rob Pelinka star f***** extraordinaire.

    Here's your star LOL.
We're not who we used to be. If im a decent NBA player, i join Bucks, Heat or even Raptors. I bet many players laugh at Rob, his bs stories and roster he built.

I just can’t with these Fools anymore.
They can’t even keep their coveted “Mystery Star” a mystery for more than 24 hours???
I feel like the entire LakerNation is being punked by these morons.

And folks wondered why we couldn’t even get a sit down with Aldridge a few years ago.
The Front Office is even more of a joke now then they were back then. It would be hilarious if it were happening to another Franchise.

And I didn't even mention social media. The benefits are far more than social media my friend. And btw, many endorsements are regional and local, you gonna tell me Charlotte NC is better than LA in a star player's mind?

yep. your second post was great at breaking it down.

sorry, but f*** off, klutch. you yielded power when you signed the extension. ask out if you want. we'll grant it. everyone will be better off, tbh.

this. if lebron and klutch want out, the door's over there. we'll help you. we all got what we wanted out of this deal (a ring in la). let's move on amicably.

but i'm not trading two (or more) 1sts for myles turner and buddy hield.

edit: re: beal: i'm actually in on that one. like butler, he's a great fit, and he's a little younger. for those worried about roster balance, we could still make moves and/or carry over players from this year (reaves, brown, bryant, walker) to get some continuity.

i just don't think beal is realistic with what we have to offer.

I like Bradley Beal but I do think it’s a long shot and of course he’s a better fit than Russ, but we still need a starting caliber center to round out the roster.

Price is too high on Beal. I also don't really see him being a better option than Tuner/Hield and I was not one of die-hard "go get Buddy and Myles" people. I think we could have both Turner/Hield for 39-44 mil next year as I don't think Turner will get better than a 20-25 mil contract out there. Even if I am way off and he gets 30 and +19 for Hield it's 49 and Beal will make 57 mil 4 years from now and be 33. Way too much risk.

Nor do I. He has to say he wants a trade to only the Lakers and he's sitting until he gets that. That is the only way he lands here. I guess it helps that Rob does have a working relationship with their FO. If Beal hits the open market, the offers are at minimum 2x as good as our best offer. This would have to be done in the midnight shadows and I don't think that is possible in today's social media age.

    That's the guy I want.

I'd even trade AD for him if this s*** is over with Klutch and he's gone.

    Yeah, that's right.

    He's got the apple juice.

    I
Im right there with you buddy.
Gotta get at least ONE future star plus picks for AD.
As for LeBronze, we aren’t going to get anything close to a Shai. It will be something similar, but worse than what we got for Shaq.

Tony Snell gonna save the season, I’m a big fan of the way he can fill out the box score!

I just don't get Beal like many do, not at his salary. Too deficient at rebounding and defense in general at his pay grade and not a very big guy either, certainly not big enough to handle many of the wings out there. Don't get me wrong, he's a freak on offensive ability but there is also ball distribution and defense and he ain't exactly going in the history books for those qualities. I'm not saying he's better at all but doesn't Hield give you essentially the same thing more efficiently? He hits 3 at a better clip and Bradley scores more because he takes more attempts. But neither player kills it on defense or distribution. I mean, we are looking at getting both Turner and Hield for less, and who knows, maybe Indy comes off their high horse and takes 1 FRP and a couple of seconds now. The clock is ticking on them and they stand to lose Turner for nothing.

His salary moving forward is insane for a player who is only effective on one side of the court.
    He’s small.
Those two traits are exactly what Rob loves in his big signings!!!

I use to have this argument with therealdeal all the time. I find these points outdated. Let’s break it down:

    - Weather: you play 41 extra games at home over a 6 month season. Most players live wherever they want in the off-season.
    - Quality of life: is actually quite poor in SoCal, quite a bit of crime, awful traffic. At the end of the day if you have money like nba players your quality of life is good anywhere.
    - Endorsements: with the advent of social media and globalisation, many people have personal brands that don’t matter about location. They’re receiving endorsements everywhere.
    - Fan following: once again with the advent of social media, fans follow their favourites regardless of team just check out jersey sales
    - Celebrities, big lights and Kardashians: yeah I guess, but I don’t think that’s why people are going to come here.

To me it’s pretty clear during our lean years with the young guys, none of those things helped. It’s a new world and stars are global. We need to build a top organisation to attract the best stars, not rely on what LA use to be.
