Man watching Buddy Hield against the Nets. This guy is a dead eye shooter with tremendous gravity. You have to stay glued to him. He also has a solid off the dribble/passing game. Far better than I thought he would have had. We should have got him the first time from Sacramento..

So, we are supposed to be HAPPY that expectations for our team are at an all time low?
We are supposed to be HAPPY that for a second season in a row, this team is hard to watch?
We are supposed to be HAPPY that our owner is so detached from reality that she gave the two guys who created this mess extensions?
Nah- I have things in my life to be happy about, but recently, my former beloved team is not one of them.

So if you see all those issues and that there is validity to the complaints, why the surprise (or at least what seems like surprise) that a good bit of the opinions on the board would be negative?

Or that there would be a lot of trade talk in the trade thread?

And I’m really not trying to be difficult here.

I just don’t think the commentary on this board is that bad or even too negative / critical given the state of the team.

In fact, I’d say most guys/gals here try to call it straight and will certainly tip their hats when the team plays well. I’m not a mod but I don’t even know for sure how much more trade speculation there is now than any other time or that WMC thread is that much worse than other times the team has struggled.

Expectation was the team would be bad and now the comments are that the team is as bad as expected.

There’s some anger/frustration with the front office but I don’t think it’s unfair or misplaced. We’re not run well in a number of different areas we’ve all commented on at various times.

Crazy enough and despite all of that, I still think we can turn this season around and get the ship in the right direction.

I do think it will take a trade to do it, but I also think we can put something together that helps now and tomorrow. Really agreed with multiple thoughts from the last LakerFilmRoom podcast.

We know Rob has been working the phones. I have to believe there was something we actually saw and laid the groundwork on that caused us to not go ahead and move forward with any of the deals floated in the rumor mill.

Right. several teams got out of the gates bad. I don’t think these stay this way all season but it is interesting to watch and comment on now.

Yeah, but no one is saying how Buddy had a bad game last night:

    17/9/8, shooting only 45.5% for 3 (5-11). He only had 1 steal.

Yeah... I don't think there was any doubt, at any point, that Irving is a great fit and a much much better player than Brick. Question remains -- would we be contenders with him instead of Brick and what would be the price.

I am not positive we would be contenders, because I am pretty sure AD/Bron will miss 60 games combined, at least. So... we'd be 4th in the West with 2nd round exit and minus 2 FRPs.

AD is going to be playing less and less games and we will, unfortunately, extend him ... so FRPs are the only way to improve with a roster that features AD, Bron and Kyrie, because clearly, we don't know how to do that via FA pool...

Such a talent, but such a mega distraction with his insanity.

He and Russ are exact opposites in that regard. I HATE RUSS the player, but Russ the seems like a good dude. Good father, gives back a lot to the community. Whereas Kyrie the player can do things only a handful of players in history can do. Truly special. Kyrie the person is insane and is almost at Kanye's level.

If he's on your roster you have to do this...
