Optimism Discussion: The Laker's Sky Is Not Falling

I’m getting flash backs of us losing to Portland’s Gleague team last year

 

Okay.. Here's my attempt at Optimism.

- Defense, Ball Movement & Overall Energy looks better.
- Assuming our 3PT % will improve as the Team gets more familiar with the Offense.
- It looks like we actually run plays in the half court sometimes.
- Westbrook's $47Mil contract will still be a valuable asset come the Trade Deadline.

I feel at home, yet feel like I should also leave



they had moments where they looked exciting and fun, and they had moments like they couldn't buy a basket or stop anyone

If they can continue to improve and build continuity, they may be watchable this year. Cautiously optimistic.

That's probably our best line up at the moment. We're not giving up size anywhere. They just gotta be able to make the outside shot at a respectable clip.

At least this looked good

 

We played pretty much the game we need to that gets us wins.
We defended pretty well throughout the game.
AD and LeBron went dominant in different spurts which needs to happen every game for us to have a chance. We're a 3-max star team with one of them being bad, so the other two need to dominate

On the downside, we are terrible in shooting and didn't close out the game well. It wasn't just Russ' shot, the prior 2 possessions had no play called.

 

yeah, my optimism is that without russ, we're 2-1 and look like a playoff team. there's a big BUT

 

We also were about to win a game shooting 6-33 from three.
Against Portland and Lillard. That's remarkable to be honest

 

AD and Bron have looked great so far, some of the additions are also surprisingly good. We have been playing defense at a level I certainly didn't expect. Just have to not lose mental health before you know who is traded.
